View Full Version : Tired of it....

I'm starting to root for this country to go further in the tank. Sorry if this sounds cynical. This "stimulus" package is the biggest pile of sh*t I've ever seen in my life. I can't believe we are going to spend $800B and most of it is garbage. Don't call it a stimulus package if it isn't!

What happened to the going through the federal budget "line by line" promises from Obama? What happend to the culture change? Now all we get is BS that it takes time to change, etc, etc. If you want things to change, then lead by example and not pick people that don't represent change and can't even manage their money/taxes - how do we expect them to manage everyone else's? How is forcing this bill quickly and forcing the Republicans to agree an example of bipartisanship? For the record, I voted for him :faint:

I think we would have been better off doing nothing. The economy will pick up, this is a down cycle. A necessary one to get rid of the inefficiency. I get tired of all these companies that get rewarded for f**king up. I don't care how central they are to the country, let them die and a newer, better version will take its place. That's how capitalism is supposed to work. Yes, things will suck in the short term but people will build better companies to take their place.

I don't understand why everyone is so scared of the term "recession". Everything can't go up all the time, there are necessary market corrections. It's a recession not the black plague! You aren't going to die. If you would have managed your money correctly to begin with, the impact won't be as bad.

I'm tired of all the idiots in our government who don't know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. They all just snow job themselves, then snow job people and continue with their inefficient ways and playing to special interests. How many people in government really understand what the economic issues are? The majority of them are just going to vote party lines and hope the problem fixes itself.

When did we start listening to our radical enemies who said "Bush is evil"? They've said that about every one of our presidents. Newsflash: they will say that about all of our future presidents, they use that as a rallying point to recruit. I'm talking about the radical minority here, the majority of people around the world don't hate the US as much as some would think. I really don't care if we are perceived as less aggressive or not, I care about protecting our citizens.

I think a lot of our problems in this country stem from one thing: Greed. The mortgage market started out with certain qualifications to buy a house, some % down, good credit, etc. So all those people are now in the market. Well, that wasn't good enough, the companies need to make more money, so let's relax the standards and write more loans! I don't get why companies would rather have 10,000 loans of varying quality than 5,000 good ones.

nom, 74% of the country agrees with you.
Only 26% think Obama is taking us in the right direction.
Most think they could do better than congress.
Bubba and 9 others disagree! 7 of them post here!

The banks relaxed their standards because they were told it was not fair that everone couldn't buy a house. The banks had Acorn members in their lobbies decrying that they must give loans to everyone. Don't blame the banks as much as Obama, frank and Dodd.,the real culprits
Too bad, that you and others couldn't see that Obama was just another socialist dimocrat. But what's done is done and we must start reversing this in 2010. Then we can put a muzzle on a lot of his crazy ideas.

Refreshing to find a post that wasn't a cut & paste job or spoonfed from an article or broadcast.

Strange times indeed.

Lefty, you make a good point about being a socialist democrat. I thought he was going to be more centrist, but guess I got fooled by the speeches.

i agree with your rant. everyone now tries to have Uncle Sam guarantee that there will be no pain. no recession, no job loss, etc, but it isn't possible.

personally, and this may sound harsh, recessions are not the worst thing that can happen, nor are bankruptcies, nor are layoffs. Why? Because they are the markets way of self-correcting. Its like a forest fire is needed once in awhile because its clears away the dead growth, and makes way for rapid new growth. the successful companies thrive, the laid off workers end up redeployed at companies or industries that are growing instead of dying. Okay it doesn't happen overnight and there is pain for anyone in that transition, but the government cannot provide for all.

if we continuously try to meddle in this process and prevent anyone from feeling any pain, the old growth doesn't get cleared out. the failed policies, the failed people, the failed companies that get bailed out or propped up live on and we all suffer because the resources don't get used efficiently because we end up pouring all our efforts down black holes.

the market is better at determining winners and loser than any of us and we will pay a dear price for this path we are on.

Go get stabbed and hear you may never walk again----Then get a real bad disease that makes matters 1000 times worse----Then lose everything because of governmental greed---Then have your ex move the hell out far with your kids cause she knows your to weak and to poor to fight-------

Then compound it----Then look at everything that is going on-----And think what can they do---Send me back to Iraq? are they going to show up and kill me? really what can they do?

I am at the point I do not really give a flyin F-lip of what these fools do-----Eff them---

at least 67% of the country is beyond help.
else why the same characters show up in congress over and over.
only way they go away is death or sex scandal and the last one isn't iron-clad anymore.

Your sham elections are rigged and useless.

If you peep out of your hole you will be declared a terrorist and gunned down by your Homeland Protection Forces.

You have been taken , turned into "providers" for "your" gvt.

2010 , good luck.

Insanity-doing the same thing over and over and looking for a different result.
