Is often wrong. They were one of the last polling outfits during the run up to the election to finally give the nod to Obama. Of course you and the rest of the right wing off topic board 22 percenters, were the last to realize how badly you would lose. (My guess is off topic is now 80% righties. Partly because the few lefties here realize how dogmatic and venomous the righties here have become )

Anyway once again Rasssmussen is doing an admirable job shoring up the righty myths.

"Poll: With 69 percent approval, Obama has political firepower

....WASHINGTON — Nearly seven in ten Americans approve of the way President Barack Obama is doing his job, giving him enormous political capital as he pushes Congress to give him unprecedented tools to fight economic crisis, according to a new McClatchy-Ipsos poll.

Obama outpolls Congress by more than 30 points, and he also can point to an uptick in the number of people who think the country's headed in the right direction even as a majority thinks the worst is yet to come in the economy.

.....More than four out of ten — 42 percent — of Americans think the country's headed in the right direction, up from 32 percent in December and double the 21 percent in October, before the presidential election.****Note to Tom and Rocky. Boy were you both wrong about teleprompters!!!!

At the same time, 50 percent still think the country's on the wrong track, down from 59 percent in early December, and from 73 percent in October.

Obama is far more popular than Congress, which is controlled by his own party.

Put on your big red nose and ask yourself if Rassmussen Polls lean more right than McClatchy-Ipsos Polls lean left. You fail to scrutinize your hand picked sources but are quick to pimp data to the contrary. What an eye-opener.

"President Obama over the past week has staged a campaign-style effort to build support for the big-dollar economic stimulus bill working its way through Congress — and a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday morning suggests that the blitz has boosted backing for the legislation and for Obama himself.

The poll showed 44 percent of respondents favored the stimulus plan while 40 percent were opposed. While still representing a near-even split in public opinion, the approval number was 7 percentage points higher than in a poll taken just a week earlier, when 36 percent of respondents approved of the stimulus proposal and 43 percent disapproved.

Obama also ticked back up in Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll, which produces an “approval index” that measures the difference between those who say they strongly approve of the president’s performance and those who say they strongly disapprove. The poll published Thursday showed 43 percent strongly approved and 24 percent strongly disapproved, for a Rasmussen index of plus-19.

It marked the second consecutive day that the index held at plus-19, a score Obama last reached in a poll published Feb. 5. It also marked a rather sharp rebound from the plus-11 score (36 percent strongly approve, 25 percent strongly disapprove) in the poll, published Feb. 8, that marked the low point in a presidency that is barely more than three weeks old."

"Three out of four Americans in a new poll said they approved of the job President Barack Obama was doing, and a majority supported his efforts to revitalize the national economy with an ambitious economic recovery plan. While Obama's approval rating was 76%, according to the CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released this week, his stimulus plan didn't fare as well."

"Results are in regarding a survey on President Obama and they're very high. A Quinnipiac University poll finds the new president with a high approval rating in Connecticut, according to poll director Doug Schwartz.

The Q-poll finds Connecticut voters approve of Obama's handling of the economy by a 63% to 21% margin. Those numbers drop a bit, to 58%, regarding the president's economic stimulus. Also, 52% are "very" or "somewhat confident" the stimulus plan will work. The poll, in which over 16-hundred were surveyed, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5% percentage points.

Doug Schwartz, director of Quinnipiac University poll, says the president's numbers are leveling off somewhat."

"H-T Capital Bureau Reporter Lloyd Dunkelberger reports that President Obama and Gov. Crist both remain popular with Floridians:

Despite the bleak economy, Gov. Charlie Crist and President Barack Obama remain popular among Floridavoters, according to a new poll from a Republican communications firm.

Some 64 percent of voters approved of Obama’s overall job performance, while 62 percent approved of Crist’s handling of his job, the Strategic Vision poll showed

The Dems had to get him out of DC. He has no clue what he is doing. Put him back out there doing the only thing he has any experience at, talking. This guy may spend his whole presidency on the road.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting a major laugh out of watching Hcap debate a couple of percentage points on the "Obama RULES!" poll?

Come on Hcap...you're better than that...

All new presidents break out of the blocks with high approval ratings...they haven't had much time to screw things up...

This one looks well on his way however, so savor the high numbers while you can.

Wait until next year until just before the mid term primaries.BO's ratings will be in freefall no matter whose poll you use.Am staying with my oringinal predictions made in November. The nation will still be in recession, joblessness will remain high, and inflation will come roaring back with a vengeance. The Dems will screw things up so badly(they already have a good start) that the Republicans will make major gains in the 2010 elections.
