This should be interesting. We have to wait until 2012 to see how it turns out

How about a name for the offspring

"Big Star Bound" isn't that from a song?

Why anyone would waste a breading season with what could be a special filly with a horse with chronic foot problems who's sire had chronic foot problems is beyond me. Just keep passing on and expanding those defects.....

Because the horse will sell for big bucks at auction. Breeders don't care about horse racing, nor do they care about whether or not the breed becomes stronger or weaker.

All they care about is the mighty dollar, and if it is going to bring them a profit then they're going to do it. Period.

krist BB never had any ankle problems or anything remotely close to that, it's nothing that would cause the horse to breakdown or die on the track... horses dont get euthanized because of quarter cracks... horses get quarter cracks all the time... if given fair amount of time, they heal up fine... BB was rushed to try and heal... if every horse on the track only had foot problems... we wouldnt have a breakdown problem...

BB, solid ankles, knees, etc... breed the crap out of him... people are aware of the problem, treat his offsprings with solid shoes to take pressure off the quarters, his offspring should do well...

I was thinking the same thing...when BB was racing, I thought along the lines of everyone else at the time...who's gonna breed to him with those feet...but he was a sound horse as far as everything else... I may be wrong, but I can't think of one issue with BB concerning his bones, tendons ect...just horrible feet, and that problem probably would have gone away if they'd been able (or chose to) turn him out for several months...
since IEAH owns Stardom Bound, no surprise she'll go to BB...assuming they 'nick' well...and she's a sound filly, her BB foal could be something very nice.
Hell of a long wait for us until her baby races....but, then again, we waited 3 years to see Nicanor.

No foot, no horse. Or so they say.
