I was wondering wondering what happened to all the tellers at my bank whose first language was American English. Now the tellers are mostly Spanish and Polish. Guess this article explains it.

When the American auto companies rebound it will be because they'll build cars here rather than export them. They will import foreign workers instead.

It's going to happen.

Oh, and when you retire to assisted living or a nursing home... you can count on being taken care of by a foreign worker.

But it's OK. Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of NYC, thinks it's a good idea to bring in foreign workers.

Yahoo! Buzz Print .SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- Major U.S. banks sought government permission to bring thousands of foreign workers into the country for high-paying jobs even as the system was melting down last year and Americans were getting laid off, according to an Associated Press review of visa applications.

The dozen banks now receiving the biggest rescue packages, totaling more than $150 billion, requested visas for more than 21,800 foreign workers over the past six years for positions that included senior vice presidents, corporate lawyers, junior investment analysts and human resources specialists. The average annual salary for those jobs was $90,721, nearly twice the median income for all American households.

Ya know, when you get right down to it, this fiasco is going to wake up a lot of people. There are some that are demanding blood and if the government and the CEO's don't wake up...we'll call it natural causes.

You gotta believe people are going to wake up.Regardless of where you stand you have to admit that Obama and Palin woke up a ot of people who continually sat in the middle of the road and did nothing. I think the numbers prove that.

Now they have to pay attention...I hope. Time will tell.

You know, it's not enough that we send our jobs overseas to cheaper labor -- but now our government makes it easier to import cheaper foreign labor here.

It's bad enough when you get laid off because your job is sent overseas. But how does it feel to get laid off because a foreign worker is imported to take your job?

if you send the job overseas (which of course I'm against) sooner or later that labor force will organize and start making demands, but if they are here along with better pay is the desire to stay in this country. No chance of a walk out, joining in a lawsuit, or a letter of complaint. They will be prone to except anything.
