I wonder what PA members think of this dispute between some Nevada racebooks and Tracknet?:

--Are you siding with Tracknet because they have a legimate beef? ...Or if Nevada racebooks give in to Tracknet's demands, will that mean higher signal rates for ADWS if they want Tracknet content in the future as well?

The ADWs are already paying a higher fee to Tracknet. For example, Youbet now pays a 9% host fee to Tracknet for Gulfstream and 7% for Calder. Nevada pays 3% or less. Good move by Tracknet.

If the Nevada books do agree to paying higher fees, look for them to tighten up on their comp policy. While they do offer free parking and admission, and free programs in the form of the overnight sheets, many still charge full or nearly full price for forms.Since you really need all three editions (East,Midwest,West),this can get a bit pricey. It depends on where you do business, who you know, and how good a customer you are,as to what you get in benefits such as forms, meals, and room discounts or comps.

It's always a good policy to demand more from your partners when things are circling the toilet.
