On Sunday, I had no prime or soft wagers. Among my contenders only selections, my 4th race $12 exacta key box returned $27.60, my 5th race $4 exacta box returned $26.60, my 6th race $12 exacta key box returned $18.60 and my 9th race $4 exacta box returned $11.40. So it goes...
Tuesday's selections:
1st – Contenders Only – Fiore De (12) has best figs in last two and has demonstrated something going longer. Roho jumps to Besselink (10) from Fiore De.and takes a big drop, also showing something when going longer. Cohiba’s Devil (3) has lost as the favorite three times and as the second choice numerous times, no more chances on the front end. Exacta Key Box 12/7,10,11 and Saver Trifectas 12/3/7,10,11
2nd – Contenders Only – Great Point (9) takes a negative drop and is not playable. Showed nothing in first two races, following eight month layoff. I’m not buying it. Exacta Box 1,10 and Trifectas 1,10/4,6,7,8/1,10
3rd – Contenders Only – Inbackofyourmind (2) is supposed to be 7-5 after waking up and posting a 27 in a par 48. Who is making these morning lines? I’m proposing an All/2 Exacta Reverse Wheel and an Exacta Box 3,4,8
4th - Contenders Only – Exacta Box 7,8 and Trifectas 1,9,11/7,8/7,8
5th - Contenders Only - Turtle Bay (2) is progressing nicely and posted an above par 78 in par 69 first time on the turf in last. Switch to struggling Velez gives me the willys. Exacta Box 2,4 and Trifectas 5,6,9/4/2
6th – Contenders Only – Exacta Box 3,6,8
7th – Contenders Only - Hoosier Kingdom (10). Mello obviously thinks highly of this 3YO colt that’s been racing against winners but figs don’t bear out the optimism. Shortens up after dueling and then weakening in last. Exacta Reverse Key 1,3,7,8,9/10
8th – Contenders Only – Exacta Box 2,3,4
9th – Contenders Only – Exacta Key Box 3/1,6 and Saver Trifectas 7,8,9/3/1,6
10th – Contenders Only – Gaskin Land (10). Chased the leader to keep him from getting away and then finished a game second in last, but with a sub-par 54 (today’s par is 67). Outside posts have been taking the dirt routes for the past week. Exacta Key Box 10/1,6 and Saver Exactas 7,8,9/10
