Magna Pick 5

Did anybody else play the Magna Pick 5 today? I admit, I was suckered in by the $1. base play. I had three out of five (the middle three) and the only way I hit is if I hit the "all button" in the first and last legs. I went 1x3x4x1x4. At least I only burned $48. It paid over $52,000. to anyone who hit.

I played the Magna Pick 5 and had four of five getting knocked out in the first leg with a $36 ticket, unfortunately its been one of those types of days with my wagers, painfully close but no cigar. :bang:

I fear you were taken in by the $2 base announcement of which Steve Crist is so fond. In one breath, they tell us "$1 base ... :jump: . In the next, they tell us the payoff for $2 ... :confused: .

$26,000-plus was the payout for $1.

I went against the entry in leg 1 and STILL missed it. :D .

The middle three were easy, but finding that Leparoux horse was a job for Sherlock Holmes. :faint:

I agree, the middle three were easy. The Leparoux horse fit Beyer-wise, but, seemed outclassed. He had done his best running against Calder-quality horses. There was no standout in the Classic.
