How did this guy get elected ??

There were approx. 133 million votes cast and BO & JMac received 98% of those or 131.5 million.

Blacks and Hispanics accounted for 13% & 9% respectively of the votes cast for either candidate, for a total of 29.3 million,
of which 95% & 67% were cast for BO for a total of 24.5 million votes.

BO won by 9.6 million votes

Also, non-military, less educated(no high school), gays and lesbians 70% and non gun owners all supported BO.

Supporting JMc were middle income Americans 50-75K per year, Protestants, over 65,Caucasions, gun owners, and active or ex-military.

As Joe Friday would say- "just the facts"

The title of the thread threw me off....I thought Osama, uh, Obama supporters were having breakdowns already! :D

Listening to McShame last night on Larry King (both of whom courted "Eve": back in the day, until Adam showed up) it is obvious why many more of the McCain group did not vote. The guy is an embarrassment to conservatism and I can understand not being able to stomach voting for him.

now, go get a graph of the population trends in the country.

You will see why next time it will be 12.5 million and the time after that by 24.5 million and (if there is a ) time after that by 50.5 million.

Oh and education, what a hoot, that's no indicator, i bet a hundred bucks if you sample out those with the most skins you will find bama carried them, so much for that one.

The "smartest guys in the room" run the place now?

Joe Friday, i don't think so, maybe dikembe motumbo obama-san or something like that.

I think you are looking for love in all the wrong places!

The point, you moron, was that while White middle class Americans were 50/50 between Osmella & JMac, BO's margin of victory was achieved by garnering (hope you understand the word) the black and hispanic vote. Ya dig dummy??

Margin of victory 9.6 mil
Black and Hispanic vote 24 mil
Get it now !!

Obama definately brought out more black & hispanics that normally wouldn't even take the time to vote . However it was the " white " voters that put him in the white house . Blacks & hispanics would normally vote for a democratic candidate anyway , you would have to estimate the number that wouldn't have voted had the candidate not been Obama to know what effect skin color may have had . I'm sure that number is far less than the number of whites that voted for Obama.

And these same black voters turned around and supported Proposition 8 in California. But then they were called "ignorant" and no appreciation was given. Wonder why???

2008 can be remembered as the year that affirmative action helped get us a president (again, if you knew his history and lack of accomplishment), the year the left pimped a black man to stardom, the year that the teflon shield of "black victimhood" allowed no criticism of the Dem's front man and the year that the first black president started selling our country into socialist SLAVERY.

And don't tell me I'm a racist in any way. I am proud to see the happy Obama family- couple in love, beautiful first lady, two beautiful little girls- an American family in the white house. I just know that behind the pretty package is a man that can help destroy this country with his failed Marxist ideology. We must be vigilante and educate the masses.

I'd still like to see a birth certificate.

And I'd prefer the "nice" man in the white house not go to bat for terrorists and illegally invade a foreign nation's air space and murder their innocent people, like Barack does.

Another spin on this voting topic , take away your largest urban area " white " vote and the outcome would have been different . The outcome of the election does not reflect how most of America voted , geographically speaking .

I am confused... If the education system is run by L-L-L-iberals, and those getting an education are L-L-L-... that L-word-thingy... then how could the majority of conservatives be more educated than L-L-... you know.

Conservatives might be smarter, but I doubt that they are better educated.

Dunno. I'm beginning to suspect that there are a lot of people in this country who don't listen to either Rush or Air America and just don't understand that this world is the simplistic cartoonistic place that the posters on this board see.

Naah......

Conservatives might be smarter, but I doubt that they are better educated.

I find that to be a most interesting conundrum of our times. I really do.

I guess realistic common sense and real world application will trump High Level Education in many ways. I see it every day.

Our Government is a testament to that fact.

Who do you think has more common sense and real world experience...........? Maybe that is the difference.
