I just looked out the window, no rainbow, no pot of gold............. ?

No Milk or Honey flowing in the streets?

I haven't seen any news/press reports of Unemployment going down today............ ?

No Healthcare issues overcome?

Ralph, if you do find that pot of gold, you will share the wealth, won't you?
there's a guy at the racebook who was elated that Obama was elected but he never tips the cocktail waitress. I guess he never heard the part about sharing the wealth.

raybo, I honestly don't understand how you can be looking forward to less money spent on new weapons to protect us and a complete scrapping of the Missille Defense system. And looking forward to higher taxes on people who help make the economy great and giving money to people who don't pay taxes, and a higher tac rate on capital gains. that's just for a start. You actually look forward to this?

As opposed to all the threads generated over the past eight years designed to do exactly what you describe? You must be joking.Well we did have some 8 years to go over this administrations failures. The fact that Georgie is at 22% attests to his "legacy.

So far youse guys have started 1/2 dozen threads knocking Obama and it has not been 8 years but 1 day. Pretty silly even for the hard core PA high-fivers. Ralph of course is the lead giggler.

Do you realize you are among those 22 per centers. About 1/5th of all Americans? And you expect the other 4/5ths' to take you seriously? Globally you are among even a smaller minority. At least accept your own political extinction with grace and dignity. Oh yeah, Tom posting a picture of his bare ass does not help dignity-wise

Maybe I should have quoted Just Ralphs post but I assumed most here, especially you PA, would have assumed his "12 hours" was the reference, and I would also assume that most here, again, especially you PA, would find that time period to be ridiculous.

Also, I don't recall having posted anything in the past 8 years to inflame any GW Bush supporters. What others did during that time I have no control over.

It would be prudent to give the present administration a little more time, not just 12 hours, to prove the validity of your dissatisfaction with the new administration.

one thing for sure about all these guys, when you tell them the facts like the dollar going bad, gold going up, and the stock market imploding, they will change the subject and blame it on someone else like the congress in the last 2 years. that don't even work anymore, gold has been about the same the last 2 years and the dollar hasn't gone down to much either.

they are going to have to find a new face to blame like how about "louis barfett"?

Instead of plopping down a birth certificate to show that he was born in this country, he has hired 3 law firms to stonewall.

I notice he is now down with the patriotism protocol, he even saluted the military bands as they marched by with his hand over his heart. unlike in the campaign when he refused to put his hand over his heart for the national anthem and called the wearing of a flag pin something he wouldn't do. nice to see he was flexible on this issue. what an inspiration to us all that he had the courage to adapt.

Like it or not,Obama is now our leader. He talks about responsibilty and sacrifice. Unfortunately, the Devil is in the details. He seems smart and I think he may be able to adapt. The question is will he lead and make tough unpopular decisions or will he go with what the people who donated to him wants.

I am not optimistic and I think people are going to be very disappointed. Even more disappointed than with Bush as hopes are so very high and he has farther to fall.

The Barack Obama Promise Tracker

Today I launched the Barack Obama Promise Tracker on the ideapalooza website. This document tracks 895 specific Barack Obama campaign promises. These promises were culled, compiled and catalogued into an excel file that will track promises kept, broken, and not-done.

A three month project, I read through every campaign speech beginning with his February 10, 2007 announcement through his November 4, 2008 acceptance speech. The Barack Obama Plan for America also became a major source of information for this project.

Each promise has a link to its original source. A check box is provided to monitor promise activity.

The file can be downloaded from the ideapalooza website for business or personal use. The file can be shared with colleagues or friends.

Users are encouraged to provide feedback to the author on promises kept or broken. This will allow the community to participate in monitoring and updating the Promise Tracker providing for the publication of subsequent versions.

It should be noted that this project could not have been completed without the BarackObama.com website which provides links to the Barack Obama Plan for America and all of his speeches. Perhaps we have entered into a new era of transparency.

WAIT UNTIL THIS GETS SIGNED.

I see bama is getting this teed up....

Higher interest rates on a current balance will be permitted only under specific conditions such as the expiration of a promotional rate, late payment or a variable rate. Interest rates on new transactions can be increased only after 45 days' advance notice.

There will be no more universal default, nor raising interest rates based on a customer's payment history with utility companies or other credit issuers not affiliated with the bank issuing the credit card.

Payments will be due at least 21 days after the bill is mailed or delivered. Credit card issuers will no longer be able to set early morning deadlines for payments.

When a different interest rate is applied to various balances, payments will be applied first to the balance with the higher rate or divided proportionally.

Customers exceeding their credit limit will no longer be hit with a fee if a hold has been placed on their account. This routinely happens to customers who reserve a hotel or rental car when merchants place a hold on the account for the entire amount to be billed several weeks or months in the future.

Finance charges on a balance due will be computed on charges in the current cycle rather than going back to the previous billing cycle. Double-cycle billing hits customers who pay their balance in full one month, but not the next.

Who do they think pays for all the dead credit out there, if you make the risk/return unattractive then why offer the credit in the first place?

Meanwhile DC is screaming for banks to lend , why if there is nothing worth lending too?

I think that had something to do with the issues now unfolding.

Oh well, more dope actions from a doped up country, whocouldanode.

Well, it might be difficult to find someone that actually is within the federal jurisdiction that isn't cheating all they possibly can on THEIR income taxes.

After all, the system actually applies to them, but they suckered you into it so that you can pay in their place, while they get to push the wheelbarrow of money around.

You know, spread the ordinary persons wealth.

Every American should jump on the opportunity by sending a registered letter to the new Secretary of Treasury demanding his determination that they are a "taxpayer" under Title 26 U.S.C.

It might be surprising what comes back.

Right up there with the "Bush was behind 9/11 groupthink"

Or the "Bush kept us safe from terrorists" groupthink. You know, except for the whole August 6th memo. (http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/10/august6.memo/) And those anthrax attacks, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_anthrax_attacks) remember those? Oh,yeah, and the Beltway Sniper Attacks. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beltway_sniper_attacks) But those apparently don't count. Then there was the Smiley Face Bomber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Helder) Remember him? 18 bombs. O.K., he's not swarthy enough. That doesn't even take into account the collateral damage. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5889435/) 12 people died in an attack on the U.S. consulate in Karachi in 2002.
Then there were the 8 Americans (34 civilians in all) who died from suicide bombers in the housing compounds in Riyadh in 2003.
Remember the 22 folks who died in an attack against foreign oil workers in Riyadh in May of 2004?
Then Paul Johnson Jr., his staff and some BBC cameramen were shot down in Riyadh in June of 04.
5 state workers were killed in Riyadh when Al-Queda stormed the U.S. consulate in Dec of 04.
Then there was the hit on the Radisson, Days Inn and Hyatt hotels in Amman Jordan that killed 57 people in 2005?

The poor folks working at the U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece in 2007 felt they were ‘under attack’ when people started shooting anti-tank missles at them.

Or the 60 people in Algeria in December of that year who were killed by two car bombs (not even by real Al Qaeda - a bunch of Al Qaeda wannabes because they hated the U.S). That happened near the U.N. offices. 11 of those killed were U.N. workers.

Then just last year, an Iraqi suicide bomber on a motorcycle kills six U.S. servicemembers and injures 18 of ours in Tarmiya.

In June, another suicide bomber kills 20, three of them Marines, at a logistics meeting in Karmah (just west of Baghdad...or perhaps it was in the north, and the south, and the east, somewhat) with some sheiks and reps of the U.S.

Just last September in Yemen, U.S. embassy staff was ambushed by a coordinated car bomb and rocket attack - killed 16, four of them civilians.

Oh, yeah. India, Mumbai?
Those were places popular with American tourists. About 190 people dead, at least 5 were from the U.S.

Meanwhile the war in Afghanistan is heating up because of Bush’s policies and lack of leadership. In July we had the worst attack against U.S. troops in 3 years against a base in Kunar province (on the border with Pakistan).
Followed in August by a cocktail of 15 suicide bombers and a bunch of guerrillas hitting Salerno in Bamiyan overnight.

Give it up, Pace. History has passed you by. The only reason Bush and Cheney aren't being prosecuted for war crimes is because nobody has the stomach to relive the last eight morally and ideologically bankrupt years. Good riddance to bad rubbish. This name-calling and finger pointing is just pathetic. The negativity and whining on this board amazes me, such tiny little minds wrapped up in justifying your pathetic, impotent existence. I'm happy to see that folks with your extreme right-wing views are becoming increasingly marginalized, so the rest of us can work to solve the real problems we have in this country. They said history had passed by liberals and Democrats during the Reagan revolution as well...or had you forgotten. So excuse me if I'm not too worried at the moment.

And by the way, nobody has a gun to your head, forcing you to click on "off-topic."

Floyd-My son is a military guy as is his wife- having said that, are you proud that Americans have been killed overseas??? You have referred constantly to the American loss of life in every attack committed by radicals overseas.

Why is that the fault of the USA?

I would love to see you express that opinion in front of a group of veterans.

Are you one of those jerk-offs who "support our troops", but don't support the president??

What an a---ole.

What's really funny is I think Floyd really believes what he posts.

Now that is funny! No one could be that dumb. It has to be a put on.

Do you think Hank and Floyd are Olberman and Mathews?
