1/15/09 Thursday

It's great when others add their picks here... makes for a more interesting read and lets me go back and check out some races.
Keep 'em coming guys.

Only found 3 races where I like a longshot for today

Dover R10...........317 Canaco Le Noblet 8/1 Suffern'S Z Tam 10/1 J D'S Sweet Art 8/1
I need Corey Callahan (7) to park out Tony Morgan (8) to the Quarter, Kim Vincent (1) to close the hole,
and Jim Morand (3) catch 'em. That's not too much to ask is it?:)
Playing Win and 3/178 Exactas

Meadows R2..........1584 Taylorlane Diva 8/1 Jayden'S Lady N 6/1 Late Bloomer 9/2 Rugby Queen 3/1
Finally got her win in 2008 (1 for 33) by dropping in the 8K claimers. 1 for 1 this year, same class but got claimed
and moves up to the 12's, where she struggles. But new barn might surprise and Palone (4) will be way overbet
Playing Win and 1/584 Exactas

Flamboro R1.............4138 The Usual Suspect 8/1 Lifestream Mindale 5/2 Gus Q 4/1 Daylon Frontier 20/1
I like horses who in their last, go wire to wire with a speed rating higher than today's class rating,
but what happens when there are 2 of them? (1 and 8)
I'll bet the closer, Win and 41 Str Exacta

I'm going chalk again at the BigM contest except for R9 where I'll try the Catman

R3...Marian'S Man
R7...Thong Song
R9...Sea Of Tranquility

Good Luck to All!

Ray, yesterday, you were able to fuel up the car....Today, maybe you will buy a new car.....Go Ray !......

Good luck in the contest too, you are in a good spot, and there is a bunch of time left, before you make your move......:jump:

In the contest I went with:

R3 - Marians Man ... chased a class dropper in that last one.

R7 - EQ Three ... perhaps can Miller can either make the front or get towed into it by #5 this week.

R9 - Slepnor ... First time Coleman and in off a freshening. Barn is strong in both categories.

Thanx Melman

I like your price shot (Ss Derby Girl) in BigM Race 10. (Computer gave the edge to the 8,
so the race didn't make my longshot list). I'll put her top and bottom
with Just Be Original (8) and Mysticole Maggie (2) in the exacta 1/2,8 2,8/1

Good Luck on your picks, especially BigM R9 :)

I like a few prices ( atleast M/L ) tonight at M1 ...

R1 - #10 - Nordic Lane - 7/2 - but probably more like 2-1.

R2 - #4 - Skyway Hanover - 12/1 - bad shuffle in last, out with pace.

R3 - #6 - Mighty Moses - 8/1 - Shuffled, blocked in last. Not my contest selection but better price.

R5 - #3 - Golden Receiver - 15/1 - First time Harder and 1st off a qualifier, barn wins with this move.

R6 - #3 - Ndizani A - 6/1 - Fits the class, better post, Yannick will be aggressive.

R7 - #6 - E Q Three - 5/1 - Rucker's horses usually move forward after these short breaks. Tough trip in last.

R8 - #7 - O Narutac Bella - 3/1 - Right back. Was locked in and loaded in last.

R9 - #2 - Slepnor - 5/1 - First time Coleman and first off a break. Barn does well with both.

R10 - #8 - Just Be Original - 7/2 - First time team Miller, you will see speed. I hope to get better than 7/2.

R11 - #8 Tammibest - 4/1 and #9 Money Is An Art - 10/1 - #8 Tammibest sat in on 1/1 while loaded, came running late. Tough trip last week 3 wide behind slow pace. #9 Money Is An Art was shuffled with pace on 12/11. Than was locked in with pace 1/1. Last week broke prior to start but came with pace late.

Alright Mr. Bit

I Like # 3 in the 6th (Ndizani A ) also. Going to box him with #10 Victory'S Boy (Clocker's Choice)....Ex Bx 3-10

Clocker.. If you're reading this, The 10 will be long, but I too like his chances, 'cause he likes to win-- 8 for 26

Good Luck All

I thought I would chime in with a HORSEY of my own tonite......

In the 3d at M1, #2--FLAMEWALKER, has my full attention....this guy loves to win races, and I also believe this horse has an abundance of ability, that if right, I think, can blow the doors off of this particular group....

In more recent times this guy has had some obvious physical problems, but given the comeback history in his last 5-starts since coming back from his July-08 hiatus, he has shown me enough of early and late speed, and I believe tonite is POP NITE....He is ready to rock and roll....****...and ready to take in some serious cold air..

We shall see........Good Luck, Ebrybudy.....:jump:

I just saw the completion of the 1st at M1.....Strong Headwinds and 9o outside.....judging by the splits in that race(they were crawling)...I think it's gonna be an interesting night, to say the least....early speed may be perilous tonite.....we''ll see......

.Many years ago, I used to have a girlfriend named Marie, and if she were still by my side, she would've said something like this;..." I voted for that horse too, he was so cute ".......:jump:

Here in R5 I agree with "The Bit" and think the 3 is a must use at the massive overlay of 55-1 on the board right now. Use him with the 2-4 and 7. Bombs away.

all I ever heard was "can we leave now"...... ...thank goodness for adw. JB

After I got married my first wife would always go with me to the races on the weekend, we used to go to the now closed, Liberty Bell Park and Brandywine Raceways down near Philly, and Freehold in Jersey , Yonkers and Roosevelt Raceways in NY...I couldn't believe how long she did this, in fact we even went to three racetracks on our honey moon in Canada....But when she started to bring her "knitting", I knew then that the good ole' days of togetherness were coming to an end.......And it was true, a year later we were kaput....GOODY !!! :jump: ;) ;) :jump:

Was just going to say that Ray. Chiman52 with a nice $23 place horse. My two picks so far have both finished 4th--that's good for exactly ---ZERO. ;)

Both horses that I single on my pick 4 tickets win and I got ZIPPO! I can blame Dube for clogging the outside flow with the #5 in the 6th!

Nothing like being forced 3 wide for the entire 2nd turn at 38-1? Shocking part is she was still coming at the end.

Hey bit, sorry about not scoring......especially with 2 singles in the bank.

It just may be the cold air and strong headwinds, affected some of the horses racing tonite.....As so far only the very strongest or the luckiest have been able to do anything right.....

I just been sittin' here watching, mostly that is what I do on nites such as these, as some good horses never get to show their wares to great effect on nites such as these.....

I've been watching for horses that raced strong into the wind and hung in there fairly good.....".Fox Valley Cruiser " has turned the corner tonite..might do better in a race or two........

Hey Lk You were a bit lucky she brought her knitting needles with her. At least you had something warm to wear. Mine used to bring a thick book (and it was not about harness racing) with her and needless to say we are not together also.:jump::jump:

Not a chance friend. By the end of the last race her patience would be wearing thin, and she would yap all the way back home in the car. That all I needed specially after a losing night.

I am sure the internet betting has saved many a marriages.
