Looking for some turf racing today? Why not take a look at Fair Grounds. Races 5, 7 and 9 are turf events.
Race 5: I am taking a hard look at #2 QUAZAR who is listed at 12/1 on the morning line.
I know the colt has finished poorly in the last few but this is his 3rd off a long layoff and the last was not all that bad. The winner won off by 5 so even though QUAZAR finished 6th by 6 1/4...he was in the mix.
Race 7: Looking for a speed battle between the 2 top choices ORPHAN BRIGADE and GROOVY LUCK. I don't care for ATTICUS KRISTY as he is 0/5 at FG so I am looking at #6 BEN AND THE TWIN who I am hoping can sit off the pace duel and pick them up late. This one obviously has some issues being so lightly raced but has shown ability.
Race 9: Not thrilled with anyone in this event but I am thinking that #3 FLAMING SLEW may be able to sneak away on a clear lead.
Enjoy the races.

In the 9th I like an exacta of TALKIN INDIAN over MA RAINEY with a smaller reverse.
Luck to all
Race 5 - I'll take the 4 dropping out of the ALW ranks and LO3 as well.

FG- 9 this is a wide open race
Flaming Slew gets to set the pace, and it could be an easy one. I think she hangs when confronted at the top of the stretch.
Scherer improved Talkin Indian #6, and she seemingly has better tactical speed now. Could sit a nice trip somewhat forward in this field and get first run on f.slew. someone else will have to close and pass her. Have to respect.
Dragum #2 is back in form, and will appreciate the stretchout. Perrodine will get the big mare involved a little sooner, and she could even win.
Ma Rainey #7 took a while to break her maiden and had to drop down to MC40 to do it. Kirkham(Smarten) likes her, and that is good enough for me. Game filly with a grind it out style. She may not appreciate a "one-run" 8.5f race such as this figures to be today, but who knows?? Keeneland's tiring poly or a cuppy WF track aren't necessarily going to show off a turn of foot. Gets a firm turf and rail out 10'

fiveouttasix,
Nice call on the 8. $15 to win.
The 8 had shown ability to poly - that translates to good turf ability many times.
