And this guy was the celebrity of the rightwing? No wonder you guys lost so badly.

Currently reporting from just outside Gaza:

"I'll be honest with you. I don't think journalists should be anywhere allowed war. I mean, you guys report where our troops are at. You report what's happening day to day. You make a big deal out of it. I-I think it's asinine. You know, I liked back in World War I and World War II when you'd go to the theater and you'd see your troops on, you know, the screen and everyone would be real excited and happy for'em. Now everyone's got an opinion and wants to downer--and down soldiers. You know, American soldiers or Israeli soldiers. I think media should be abolished from, uh, you know, reporting. You know, war is hell. And if you're gonna sit there and say, 'Well look at this atrocity,' well you don't know the whole story behind it half the time, so I think the media should have no business in it."

.................................................. .......................................

Maybe he should be reporting for "Modern Plumbing" about plumbers putty? Or maybe drains? Go Joe!!

Was there a point here?
They are getting so ridiculous, it is getting hard to tell if there is one.
Can you highlight them in the future, maybe bold, or underline?

Hey, 'cap, lost your way in life? Feeling a little unfulfilled? Leading a meaningless existence, are we? Have you thought about starting an anti-Israeli invasion-into-Gaza march and protest? But if you can't drum up more than a few people to support it, consider moving to Europe where all you socialist soul mates are marching to this drum beat. They get "thousands" to protest against Israel over there. Your festering misery would be in a lot of good company across the big pond.

I laughed.

Nothing like someone unqualified to be given an internship, accept it, and go on to speak against it.

And in other news....

A prisoner in Texas cut out his eye and ate it.

They're currently debating if he's sane or not.

I'm willing to wager 60 of my VCash saying he is.

Seem's like a goofy take, Why shouldnt war be reported on?? It's the biggest topic in the country right now along with the economy, and we're supposed to not know whats going on?

I'm assuming Joe the Plumber is trying to make the point that the left biased media is making things look worse, thus made his guy look bad in the process, but saying no reporting on the war isnt the answer. We just need to have unbiased reports about the war, but thats not going to happen from our media.

I've been here for a little over a year and this has to be the dumbest thing I've ever read . Either your sleepwalking and need to be woke up , or you've completely gone over the edge .

Nobody said joe was a brain or anything but a plumber. A private citizen that was dragged into celebrity simply because he asked Obama a question that Obama and other dims didn't like. If anything, Joe is the Poster Boy for what happens to a private citizen when the Dims don't like you. You get attacked, made fun of and your private affairs investigated. The same dimwits that protested Bush looking into the terrorists conversations and banking sources DARE to investigate a private citizen and there was not enough of an outrage about it.
BTW, Joe still knows more about the economy than Obama. Obama is Jimmy Carter on Steroids.

While I would grade the post presentation to be KenWoodallpromos-esque type bad...

I actually think this is a rock solid thread.

The dude goes to the Middle East to cover a war while part of the media - and while there says that the media shouldn't be allowed to cover wars.

Maybe when TVG sends Matt Carouthers to cover Keeneland again - while there he will say that the racing media shouldn't ever allow douchebag racing analysts to cover the Keeneland meet.

Why does anyone still care about JTP? I certainly don't.

Although I do care about all the privacy invasion he suffered at the hands of Democrats in Ohio.

Suprisingly, the ACLU and most of the Obama-lovers do not.

Odd, don't you think?

I thought Democrats were the last bastion of hope against the hell-bent-on-Big-Brother Bush Administration? Who knew the left was just as evil?

Indeed, and the Demwits complain about the Patriot Act.

Maybe the point he trying to make was that the press should not be allowed to cover the war because they are not reporting the facts.

Maybe JTP is spellbound by what he sees and knows it is not what is reported.

The media wouldn't taint the war to elect BO would they? Makes you wonder what else they fail to report accurately.

And this buffoon was seriously touted as the VP pick in 2012 with Palin as prez.
The latest drivel..........
"I think the military should decide what information to give the media and then the media can release it to the public. I don’t believe they need to be in the front lines with soldiers, I don’t believe they need to, uh, you know, be bothering the military for information or for access to certain areas."
As far as I know there is a “Public Affairs Officer”. Military units of battalion size or larger have one. It is their job to package the information and present it to the media.

Believing the Military is another matter.

I may be wrong about military public relations, but not about trusting the military,or your idiot pal JTP.

Palin is a genius compared to Joe.

Found this on.....

http://www.navy.com/careers/officer/publicaffairs/

Job Description:

Managing the flow of news and information for the Navy, the media, and the public is the responsibility of a group of elite Officers who specialize in the Navy’s public relations. Public Affairs Officers are the eyes and ears of the fleet and often the rest of the world. Effective delivery of information is an intricate part of the Navy – in the form of visual, audio, and written communications, both internally and to the public.

What Will You Do?

* Supervise the writing and delivery of press releases and reports for the public and military

* Brief military personnel before they meet with the public and news media

* Provide information to newspapers, TV and radio stations, and civic organizations

* Schedule and conduct interviews and news conferences

* Oversee the content and production of radio and television programs

* Advise the operational commander on decision-making and communication with three main audiences: media, internal Navy, and the public

* Direct the preparation of layouts and content for papers, magazines, and websites

.................................................. ..............

Propaganda arm of the military. No biggie. The Military has done this since war began. And it is often the case the truth is victimized. Pat Tillman? Jessica Lynch ring a bell? How about other wars where military men ballyhooed myths of righteousness, until history exposes what really happened. And you think JTP understands either history, war or being a member of the press?

Was war declared or is it just a conflict or a cleanup--When the media can't start with what is really happening--I give up------

I get my Middle East news from The Jerusalem Post--

the Muslims had a good news service---they just dumped the English side---wonder why----

foreign sources are a great fact check---for all sides----

All these are great resources to get a worlds eye view to what is really happening----I have at least 1 link to every world wide newspaper in a country-----In most forward countries 2 or more----That was part of my old life------After 2001----It was to stay more involved in current events---Not just look for DUI's---

Hcap,

I wonder if you would object this strongly if it were Cindy Sheehan instead of JTP. Just curious, did you ever comment that she was unfit or unqualified when she ran against Pelosi?

hcap
01-14-2009, 04:16 PM
Bit of a stretch. Sheehan lost her son. JTP lost his plunger.

I never thought Sheehan was qualified. Her contention against Pelosi was a small matter compared to the national stage Plumber strutted on-and off.
If it makes you feel better. I did prefer Pelosi. Although always sympathetic to Sheehan and her overall cause.

How do you feel towards Joe?

...and capitalize on it? Exploit it like she has done? Indefensible.

I agree that Joe has no business trying to be a journalist in Israel, but you have no credibility whatsoever if you truly believe that he "was seriously touted as the VP pick in 2012." Not that you had any before, anyway. Seriously...by whom?
