NBC CUTS COULTER; KEEPS PEREZ
Mon Jan 05 2009 17:50:57 ET

**Exclusive Details**

The nation's top selling conservative author has been banned from appearing on NBC, insiders tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

"We are just not going to have her on any more, it's over," a top network source explains.

But a second top suit strongly denies there is any "Coulter ban".

"Look for a re-invite, as soon as Wednesday," said the news executive, who asked not to be named.

NBC's TODAY show abruptly cut Ann Coulter from its planned Tuesday broadcast, claiming the schedule was overbooked.

Executives at NBC TODAY replaced Coulter with showbiz reporter Perez Hilton, who recently offered $1,000 to anyone who would throw a pie at Ann Coulter. Hilton is also launching a new book this week, RED CARPET SUICIDE.

Coulter was set to unveil her new book, GUILTY.

One network insider claims it was the book's theme -- a brutal examination of liberal bias in the new era -- that got executives to dis-invite the controversialist.

"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," a TODAY insider reveals. "It's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

Others inside the peacock network strongly deny the book's theme is at issue.

In all honesty, Perez Hilton is probably more interesting than Ann Coulter. I think most people are done with her smear tactics.

Of course she was bounced, after all,NBC is the most far left of all the networks. While at times she can be a bit nasty, most of the time I just love the way she makes Liberals squirm.More power to Ann,who the hell needs NBC?

Perhaps NBC just wants some free high profile publicity. They ban her today, bring her back on Wednesday. If that's the case, it's a pretty good marketing move. If that's not the case, they stink.

The world trade center wives comment, calling John Edwards a "faggot", Jews need to be perfected, country would be better if women didnt vote.

She just tries to hard to create controversy by titilating and saying demeaning things about people, i think its a very sad way to behave, putting other people down to make yourself feel better about your situation, but TV and they need ratings and she wants to sell books, and it works for her. She's just not my cup of tea, if i need good conservative banter i listen to O'reilly

Wow Tom, Not only are you wrong, but your really wrong.

CBS has the lowest ratings of the morning shows with their early show behind number 1) NBC's Today show 2) Good morning America ABC 3) CBS

And as far as the nightly news, yeah they are last of the big 3 in that too in terms of ratings.

So unless she's going to be on CSI spouting her caustic venom, she will be playing to less viewers.

NBC has become open about their bias, so a banning is inline with that type of censorship and one-sided philosophy. NBC's banning will help her with book sales and exposure on other networks, and will only make NBC look foolish.

I fimly believe that ALL the Networks and Key News Outlets are owned, run and manipulated by the same "Kingmakers" (the real power behind All the thrones), and they will have only those who best serve their special purposes and agendas......

I think Coulter served her purpose and will be rewarded in other ways.....I'll bet..

Jballs, You actually believe Tom knows the actual ratings for the news division over the entire network? I think that would be something you would need to look up. It is a broad discussion. Get over it. Tom was wrong about the "news division" ratings....... big deal. You got to correct him. Are we all that sensitive? Now stop whining and get back in the game. If this quote doesn't make your skin crawl, nothing will.

Can you just imagine, just for one second, if FOX news had released the same quote from some "insider" regarding some guest who was critical of President Bush? Who would be the first to post about "Faux News" on off-topic then?

Sad.

All of us righties are going to buy it anyway and only some lefties who want to see what the enemy is up to are going to bother. Here, take it straight from her............her latest talks about it

http://www.anncoulter.com/

After NBC canceled me "for life" on Monday -- until seven or eight hours later when the ban was splashed across the top of The Drudge Report, forcing a red-faced NBC to withdraw the ban -- an NBC insider told The Drudge Report: "We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," explaining that "it's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

In point of fact, I'm not particularly critical of Obama in my new book. I'm critical of the media for behaving like a protection racket for Obama rather than the constitutionally protected guardians of our liberty that they claim to be. So I think what the NBC insider meant to say is that NBC is not interested in anyone so highly critical of NBC right now. It's such a downer, it's just not the time, and it's not what their audience wants right now, either.

More at the link..........good piece on what they really don't like about her..........

I like this part:

"The media's fawning over Obama knew no bounds, and yet, in the midst of the most incredible media conspiracy to turn this jug-eared clodhopper into some combination of Winston Churchill and a young Elvis, you were being a bore if you mentioned the liberal media. Oh surely we've exploded that old chestnut. ... Look! Look, Obama just lit up another Marlboro! Geez, does smoking make you look cool, or what! Yeah, Obama!. "

They didn't need to have anybody quote anything. For most of Bush's first term, it was a complete roll over and lay down slam dunk by ALL the media, not just FOX. They snorted the Cool Aid and mailed in their lickshpittle reports EVERY day.

That's why, when they found out Bush was completely full of shit and based his war strategies on nonsense- they struck back. Indeed, he has been so terrible, that some certainly did get behind Obama. Was it pay back ? Probably !

BTW, I'd like to see a tag team Obermann & Franken v.s. Coulter & Hannity... VERY much a grudge match... every night.
