D2U was right. Need to start posting. So why not start at the beginning--of a race, that is. Has anyone ever attempted to track horses that get out of the gate quickly?

Saw a firster at SA a couple of weeks ago coming from the 13-hole open a 2-3 length lead before the other horses had even cleared. Went on to wire the field. Unusual, but not uncommon.

Any thoughts?

I use the start call as a comparison of early speed horses - to see if anyone can do just that - speed pop and go hide.
