This is from the Blood-Horse web site

http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/wgoh/archive/2008/12/30/Stake-Holders.aspx

"Magazine publishing has been described as a three-legged stool supported by the pillars of editorial, advertising, and audience development. The perch becomes precarious if the three legs aren’t balanced. The core of the Thoroughbred industry can be thought of in a similar way. Here, the three legs are comprised of stallion managers, breeders, and racehorse owners."

I guess horseplayers don't count for anything, or maybe they are considered a different kind of stool.

Hmmm? Sounds familiar. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
A week or so ago I wrote in another thread on this site regarding who "slots" money should go to that the industry was a 3 legged stool
1. owners
2. race tracks
3. bettors

Bloodhorse is focussed primarily on breeders and that's their target audience.
Note that my 3 legged stool left the breeders out. My apologies.

I think they are referring solely to the breeding industry, so unless you are laying bets on foaling dates, I don't think horseplayers are a primary consideration....

Not only do I count but I can also subtract, multiple and divide.
