Picks for Aqueduct Sunday:
R1 #1A Mr. Umphrey-Figures to establish a clear lead here. Has definitely seen better days , but the drop in class may bring him back to his winning ways.
R2 #6 Psychotic Summer-Something must have happened physically to him during his last race, forcing the layoff. His best efforts seem to have come on the AQU inner (4 of his 5 in the money finishes lifetime). Wouldn't be surprised to see him prominent early.
R3 #6 Waytotheleft-The last time Contessa claimed this one he won 3 in a row off the claim with her (including 2 on the AQU inner). Dominguez was on board for 2 of those wins.
R4 #4 Mr. Fantasy-Very likely to be a runner. E Dubai doing ok with FTS, the dam has also dropped a FTS winner. Trainer/Jock hitting at a 40%+ clip with 2yo FTS this past year.
R5 #10 Slade-ML favorites look vulnerable here. Barn hasn't done much with limited claims but might pull it off here. This one ran some competitive figs earlier in the year. Honest pace expected here, he may be able to pick them off late.
R6 #9 Yes She's a Lady-Showed a decent worktab prior to trouble filled debut. Switches to Dominguez today and may improve second time out.
R7 #2 Felinefelon-Expect this one to gun for the lead here. Last few poor efforts have excuses. Bred to like added distance, so hopefully he can establish a clear lead early.
R8 #12 R Clear Victory-I imagine the jock on Get Serious will not try to tangle with him early, so he may be able to establish a clear lead early. He's as honest as they come so hopefully he'll be able to hold them off late. 12/1 is worth a shot here.
R9 #12 Kingsgate Bay-Only finished 3 lengths behind ML favorite last out. Has since moved to new barn and gets Dominguez today.
