Some of you may have suffered this issue over the years. For a long time, the colors on my HP desk jet printers (first the 932c then the 940c) were often pretty screwed up. Many times, a few days after inserting a new cartridge I would be enable to get any blue on my printouts, just yellows, pink and black.
On fixyourownprinter.com they called it the "pink flu."

Well after accidentally running across that site last night, I found the solution -- and it's a pretty unlikely one.
If your electronic contacts on your printer cartridges are clogged, one of the last things you would consider to clean them is put them in hot water -- very hot water, almost boiling -- for about 30 minutes (just the contacts) and let them dry.

Yet, miraculously, it works. I'm hoping I can save some of the color cartridges that I had put aside because I could only print in pink, black and yellow.

Head over to this thread for all the details.

Good site. It actually gave me some answers regarding my HP2605dn printer.
