That was heart breaking Nacumi;
PTC / HANA / PA / HTR / HDW leading the charge;
Buy the property and put in condos for horseplayers. Succeed from the union and declare yourself a sovereign nation. Only horseplayers are leased units with rebates for all. Enough live racing is conducted to secure simulcast rights and hopefully live dates will expand.
Welcome to Hialeah
A city run, owned and occupied by horseplayers.
Hey; it’s December and all horseplayers can dream a little. I REALLY miss that place.

I remember as a kid there used to be a weekly show on TV called
Racing from Hialeah. It seems it was on Saturday night and I remember
the flamingos ( of course all we had was a black and white TV so I assumed
they were pink. Does anybody remember that show? I remember as a kid
we used to say Racing from Hialeah no matter what we were racing.
Usually home made go karts down some hill. It's nice to remember those
simpler times. :)
Wow ... it looks like the ruins of an ancient temple. Is our sport dying, or is it our culture that is dying and this is only a sign of it ? Horseracing on the grand scale of Hialeah can only exist in a free and opulent society. Hialeah is gone ... what does that suggest ?
i remember going there when my brother was a student at univ of miami
it was a beautifull park :confused:

I realize this is off topic, but in a similar vein. Those of you from the New York area will recognize this as the Concord Hotel in Kiamesha Lake, NY (Catskills).

Truly heartbreaking. I spent three summers working there as a waiter (ages 14, 15, & 16).

Hialeah was the very first race track I ever visited in FL, 25 years ago, therefore, I became totally biased about what I thought a day at the races was supposed to be. Sad to think that the standoff between Brunetti and the other FL venue operators, and the local and state politicos has left this deplorable result. Why can't the powers that be figure out (Halsey Minor, where are you?) how to rescue it for a boutique meet(s), but put a horse park or museum or something on the grounds to sustain it year round? It is an historic site already, so it deserves some kind of preservation.
Instead, I keep hearing those song lyrics: take paradise and put up a parking lot. Sheesh.:bang:
