A recap of my Dec 26th visit to the OBS in Ocala, Florida.

I spent the day in the clubhouse restruant, the Mgr, Donna was awesome and very hospitable as was the Tote teller.

I did okay today and almost hit my 1st Pick 6 ticket , but had to sttle for
5 out of 6, which also was the best I have ever done too. Hit 105.20 for it.

So overall I would give OBS a pretty good grade , A-, as a nice quiet place to play the ponies and best of all , very nice people working there too, a rare combination to have both at one place.

My journey continues thru 2009 and my next stop on this trip will be Tampa Bay Downs Next weekend, and maybe another visit to OBS as I will be in the neighborhood all week.

Till Tampa

Take Care & Great Luck

Thanks Bruddah

Please understand that the Pick 6 ticket I played was due to my software being so strong on those particular horses that day, not a normal thing.

I normally do not play Pick 6's as I am not equipped to play more than 20.00 per ticket, I am still a small time player, dreaming of bigger things someday, but my dream is still alive at least.

I wish you the best of Luck in 2009

1st.
Let me say a big thank you to rrbauer for getting us great box seats at the Finish Line on a beautiful day in Tampa for racing. Thanks to Linda who was very helpful in obtaining me a great seat the day before, and remembered the same for today, a bright spot in the staff at Tampa.

2nd.

I will finish this report about my days at Tampa, in the next day or so, and I have something to say about the service at this place and the stupid thing I did , that Hopefully you will never ever do, so stay tuned for this....

Patrick

Much thanks again rrbauer

Ok Part 2 of Tamapa Bay Downs report.

This took time to do, as one never wishes to report on the stupid things that you, yourself did, as you are always responsible for yourself.

1. They had no Valet for my Big Rig Truck, I was told to park almost a mile away from the clubhouse entrance.

2. This was a mistake I hope you guys never make, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION , I went to make my 1st bets, they were about 40.00, and I paid for them with a 100.00 voucher, THIS IS IMPORTANT, I was at the teller, and after I gave him my voucher, he gave me all the tickets back, WHICH I THOUGHT INCLUDED THE VOUCHER, NOW WORTH 60.00, AS THERE WAS NO OTHER TICKETS IN THE MACHINE, I mention this as I find out later, that after I gave the voucher to the teller and the amount was dedudcted to pay for my bets, THE TELLER MUST HIT A BUTTON FOR THE VOUVHER TO COME BACK OUT OF THE MACHINE, and the teller knows this too, So this is why I felt that the teller knew what he was doing and did not give back my voucher on purpose, though , please understand that it was my responsiblity to make sure my voucher was there, but WHAT I DID WAS MAKE SURE I TOOK ALL THE TICKETS THAT WERE PRINTED OUT OF THE MACHINE, WHICH SHOULD OF INCLUDED MY VOUCHER TOO, BUT IT DID NOT, AND I LOST A 60.00 VOUCHER.

2. a I went back to this teller and he verified that I gave him a 100.00 voucher, as he still had it , as I was his 1st customer that day, and he stated he knew nothing about the return voucher, now the part that made me suspicious, he was talking to the person behinD me in line, like they were best friends, and I later remembered that and the teller next to him later explained to me about the process of returning the vouchers after you give them voucher you have to be deducted from, and this guy has had a few people come back looking for vouchers, now this is all I will say about this, and CHALK THIS UP AS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE, AND LET IT LIE, SO NEXT TIME PAY BETTER ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE GETTING BACK, OR YOU WILL PAY FOR IT.

3. Now this one is a pet peeve of mine, most clubhouse restaurants that I have been in have the following.

3 a. They have a nice menu, a somewhat laxed dress code, except for special occassions, and all have TV's on the tables, NOT THIS PLACE, as a dress code, pants,( in Florida ), not shorts and a collar shirt, like on the golf course, so if you go there, please be aware of this, as they also do not have TV's at the tables either, unheard of...in my opinion.

4. Now in the box seats , do not order Lemonade from the pretty girl who comes around, as they only serve Beer, not Lemonade. She claimed they were out, so I went inside and got it myself, they were not out of it, though she was very cute.

5. Now with all this said and done, LET ME SAY THIS, THE EXPERIENCE WAS OVERALL A GREAT TIME, THANKS TO RRBAUER AND TBD FOR THERE HOSPITALITY. The seats were at the finish line and the weather couldn't have been better. I would do it again , anytime they want to, I had a great time, even losing a voucher, my fault, it was fun and the guys were great.

Well I am off to Washington State and will let you know my next stop in this Great Country, when I know where and when I will be there.

Again a big time thanks to rrbauer and TBD for this afternoon.

Let me know if you wind up in the N.Y./Southern Westchester County area.I'd love to say hi!

Very best of good health and happiness to you in 2009

P.S.
Lose the salt and processed sugars. Substitute fresh fruits for the sweet tooth and try walking every day if you can. first nice and slow then if you get into it a fast brisk 20-30 minuted walk a day ok? Drink plenty of water to flush the natural sugar in the fruits. Also the water helps stabilize insulin levels in many cases. The pounds will fall off you FAST man. It IS that easy.

Then when we meet you just might be the 250 lb trucker!! :)

If you are ever in the Baltimore/DC area let me know and I can meet you at Laurel Park. Plenty of parking for your rig also. Live running Wednesday through Saturday.

Laurel is 20 minutes from either city and right off of I-95.
No big rigs allowed on I-295.

Patrick,

If you are able to avoid Washington, you really should. There are some very dangerous flood issues right now. Also, Interstate 5 closed tonight between Portland and Seattle. The same thing happened last year and I-5 was closed for a few days. The situation looks much worse this year. Truckers were forced to divert hundreds of miles or wait it out. Either option is costly.

Whatever you do, be safe.

pktruckdriver
01-08-2009, 11:51 AM
Thank you Gentlemen

If all goes well I may be able to meet up with you all eventually sometime this, Belmont may be the hardest, but if they allow parking for the rig then, and I can get to without going onto a parkway, which trucks can't go on, I will eventually make it to the big city this year.

As for the weight thing, efforts, and plans are trying to be put in place now, it is just that my discipline/will power is very very low in this area, no real support system in place, so it makes the discipline thing a little harder, not impossible, just harder. If I can WALK and WATER 1st and then the other things may fall into place, I DID manage to QUIT SMOKING after almost
30 yrs ,about 2 packs a day, so that put about 50lbs on me, so now this year I hope to lose some of it, we'll see.

Thank again Guys

Patrick

I am worried about the flooding, but am going to the SE corner of Wa., not where the flooding is going on, but the next trip may take me there, so I will be as careful as can be.

1) Skinny people are experts at losing weight.
2) Big losers are experts at picking horses.

Donnie

Patrick--
Losing weight is just like ANYTHING else in life! It starts with the mental aspect! If you don't want to do it, you won't do it. If you believe you can do it, it's possible you can. If you want to do it, you will do it! ( someone will now post "But I want to fly!".....you are flying, until the ground slows you down! :) )

I signed up for karate lessons with my son this past June, currently living the 50th year of this life. It was tough at first. There were many a night I didn't want to go. But I followed our dojo's creed....Commit to Get Fit.

We have a 27 yr old "kid" who, until one night we were talking about our ages, I figured him to be about 40 years old. He's big. He's slow. He almost always is complaining about his aches and pains. 27??!!

I am down almost 10 lbs in 7 months. Doesn't sound like much until you take into account some of that flab has been replaced with some actual muscle again. I feel better than I have in a long time. The backaches have gone away.

I hope that you get your mental house in order first. Instead of staying in and watching those basketball or football games on TV in the motel, get out and take a walk. Buy an iPod and load it with your favorite tunz. I agree 100% with Richie....you will be amazed what simple walking will do to those lbs.

As you start to tackle the weight, think about applying the same discipline to the horses. I would bet you know before you bet that you are about to make a "guess bet". Discipline will tell you to stay seated and keep your money in your pocket!

Good luck and good health. To all!

And Patrick-- be sure to let me know when you roll your rig thru Iowa again! Next time we will get together out at the track!

Last Minute update for Jan. 15th - 17th possibly.

I am checking in tonight at the Boulder Station Casino on Boulder Hwy and Us Hwy 95, as they have Semi-truck and trailer parking.

My next Pick-up is not til Monday in Peoria ,Az., so maybe I could spend a day or 2 here in Vegas, or tomorrow go into Az, or maybe Laughlin, as they a re cheaper down there on the weekends.

I would be happy to hook up with anyone in the Vegas area, just leave a note in the thread or a PM and when I get into my room about 2-3 hours from now I will check back here for any possible messages.

Again Losta Luck

Man this place is a sad excuse for a Hotel and Casino, The Fiesta Henderson

Casino, in Henderson, Nv. I am not too happy with this place, now it may

have a little bit to do with the fact that I couldn't hit NOTHING/NADA/ZILCH

,But honestly, no business center, when it states it has one, for me that

matters, being able to print stuff up and fax a few things, mail some stuff too.

How can a big Casino like this have no Breakfast Buffet, or even Room

Service ? The showers here were made for people 4 foot or smaller, the

shower head comes up to my chest/belly, I could go on and on, but will not.

At least the Race Book gave out free DRF Forms, thou winners were in them

I could find none of them on this wondeful afternoon, maybe next time, not!!

They say even a loser gets lucky once in a awhile, well how long is awhile?

I think next time I stay in Vegas for the weekend or longer I will need to do

my homework and find a better deal on a place to stay and play.

Ok back to work for now, may be in Reno , next weekend, not sure yet.

Thank you for that post, thing is with my schedule as it is, I normally do not know where I may end up till I am stuck there, sometimes a trip falls thru, and it leaves stranded for the weekend, very rarely can I predict where I will be no more than 2-3 days ahead of time.

Now that does not mean that I can not plan ahead and ask to be off for a weekend in NYC, or Portland, Or, Santa Anita, or any other place with a little effort we can get there and have time off to relax and play.

J. , I have been studying, but a real program, my friend, not yours.

Yes that is right.

I am stuck in the north side of Chicago for the weekend, near Arlington, I believe.

I am actually between Chicago and Milwaukee, except I believe Milwaukee has no race track or OTB of any kind does it ???

I am in the town of Zion on the state line of Wisconsin and Illinois. On I-94

If anyone would be willing to hook up, send me a email or PM, and I will do my best to check it every hour or so.

Please be aware this time for me to travel , I have a trailer, a 53 footer with me, so parking for me is sometimes a problem, like when I went to Delta Downs they threw me out with the truck and trailer, said I could not park there, so I did not and will not play there anymore either.

Normally I can find a place to drop the trailer, and Bobtail anywhere, but not this time, sorry.

As one who has the made the "meet up" with PK I agree there is a book in there somewhere. I my case I was able to discover the charm of Presque Isle in Erie PA.
Of course when the TV show is made Pat becomes a truck driving detective;
and in the movie he becomes an international truck driving spy.

Patrick: Don Stevens @ Delta Downs is a good friend of mine, and they are usually ultra fan friendly there, so with that HUGE, massive parking lot (and with a largely unused parking lot to the side as well), I can't imagine they couldn't find a place for you to park your rig. My sense is that one of the parking lot "nazis" did this to you instead of management, let me know if you want me to bring this to their attention, and I will speak with Don or Chris Warren, the director of racing. I think the "real" decision makers would be ok with this and would love to have you there, and I would be happy to talk with them on your behalf in case you ever get back down that way.

Any race track that can afford to turn away Fans, ready to bet and spend money, just doesn't get it. Especially in todays econonmy and circumstances. The casinos usually have space set aside for the Big Rigs. I know, I was the Pres. of a 2000 unit Refrigerated carrier fleet up and until the mid 90's. Satellite tracking helped our dispatch tremendously. Up until Sat tracking, we would always lose a couple in route. :D

Why race tracks don't cater to the truckers more, beats me.

You are right they normally have an area designated for trucks, because we spend money, just like everyone else, and heck we may even stay for 2 days.

DD situation was definetely the parking guys, but when he threatened me with the Sherrif, what am I suppose to do, deal with the local sherrif in Louisiana, no Sir , not me, I am not 20yrs old anymore, I learned my lesson, and learned it the hard way, no more lonely nights in slammer, saying you can't do that, right after they did IT.

But all in all most places welcome us with open arms, and yes they may make us park 2 miles away, it seems at times, but they do welcome us.

Hey Patrick - For a laughs have you ever driven your rig up to the Valet drop-off at a track and gotten out and handed a very confused looking kid your keys with a $20 and tell them to park it somewhere nice? Now attempting to do something like that at Del Mar and having it filmed would make for better TV then a lot of stuff on today.

Sir ,that thought is in my mine everytime I goto a track with Valet Parking, but most times the over-hang is under 13'-6", so I would not fit under it, but yes, I would love to do it, but there sense of humor is not what it use to be...

pk,
The next time you are overnighting in Zion, you have two options, both within 15 minutes:

1. Waukegan, IL OTB. No live action but a place to have a meal and watch a few races.
2. Kenosha, WI. Dairlyland Dog Track. Live hounds and simulcast.

Don't know if those are up your alley but something to do maybe.

Patrick: Knowing Don Stevens like I do and the tremendous attention that he and Delta Downs gives to customer service, I was quite sure that someone "dropped the ball" in your treatment when you were there. Don asked me to pass along his apologies to you, as he then contacted Asst GM of Delta Downs, Steve Kuypers and Director of Security Travis Waters, who both confirmed that telling a trucker to leave is ABSOLUTELY NOT their policy, and never will be. As I suspected, the east or "side lot" as it is known, is where they ask the truckers to park and they will immediately notify and re-iterate with their parking team that IS THE POLICY and always will be. They were quite alarmed when they heard that someone was asked to leave the grounds for doing absolutely nothing but asking to park and subsequently being threatened with calling the sherriff, and with that being the case, Don also asked that you contact him next time you're coming to Delta Downs so he can say "hello" and comp you a free buffet dinner as well!

Keep on "truckin" Patrick!!!

I will try again, last time I did not see any trucks parked there at the time that was another reason why I believed him and left, otherwise I may have had doubts, as not letting trucks park seemed ridiculous, but trouble is no longer my middle name, too old and wiser now.

Hello Again

I am now stuck in Ontario ,California as I have emergency repairs done on my truck, just life on the road.

The repairs may be done by noon Friday, but I have been in the shop for the last 3 days already, add that bill up, 3 1/2 days in the shop, shop rate 85.00hr, ouch, but this was something that a Million Mile Truck needed to have done anyway, and believe it or not I got an awesome deal, and feel great about the people doing the repairs too.

Now onto what to do this weekend in Ontario, Ca, and do it on a very limited budget, Santa Anita Racetrack is about 35 miles from here, and they also have a Nascar event about 8 miles away from the truckstop here in Ontario, off I-10 and
I-15.

Any ideas please send a PM or post here and I will try to keep looking here and see if we can hook and enjoy the nice California weekend here, man the Mountains around here look beautiful with snow just on the tops, man it is pretty. And no smog clouds today , yet.

Well take care and Good Luck

Patrick

pktruckdriver

It seems that the Nascar events are both under 50.00, Saturday is a 2 for 1 day , as both the truck and Nationwide series run that day, tickets , minimum 40.00 for General Admission, and Sunday is 35.00 Minimum, up to 210.00, ouch.

Oh Well it seems that I may be back on the road Saturday, not sure yet, but they seem to be looking for somethng for me this weekend, if not then Monday.

Welll today is free day at Santa Anita, but my truck may not be done in time for me to get there today, most likely it will be done by noon, or so I was told.

Well good luck all

Patrick

Well the weekend is done, and time for my report on So. Cal.

It seems that , even though I mentioned I was on a budget due to my truck repairs, I still had a fair sum to play if I chose to, a modest 500 bankroll, BUT...

Since I heard from no one, repeat no one, I guess Cal people do not like truck drivers much, for no offers to meet ,anywhere ,was ever offered to me this long weekend.

With Santa Anita just down the road, I would'a thought Mr. Rick Hammerle from Santa Anita would've offered me a nice day at the track, as we have emailed a few times and I spoke to him on a radio show, I listened to , on Sirius Satellite Radio , one day each week, it is a 3 hour show, 5 days a week, called At The Races, and repeated 3 times a day, I believe this is must for serious horse players, great show. But apparently no offer to meet up this weekend from the people of Southern California, oh well...

As I go on to more travels, I just want to say I can only meet up with those willing and those who suggest a time and place to do so. Now I did not boycott Santa Anita this wknd because no one offer to meet up with me, even I am not that crazy, I was just trying to catch my breath and recoup my much needed sleep time , but would've been happy to meet up if it was there.

So, Santa Anita , not too high on Hana's Track Rating, is about all I can say about it this time, except that I do know I can park my truck with my trailer there, as I have done so before, and could see it from the clubhouse, so keeping an eye on it is easy enough, to me that is always a plus. A big Plus!

Overall this weekend was for catching up on my sleep, and I think I did do that somewhat, I had an online meeting scheduled this weekend, but those plans went awry, so sleep and study was the weekend for me... Til next time.

Take care and Good Luck All

Whoa whoa WHOA, big feller. Don't get a new peter built juss chet. Just as past performance is no guarantee of future success, so underwhelming response is proof of neither apathy nor even antipathy. Yew dig ?

Now, don't go dissing Lucky Baldwin's Great Fake Surface Place, where all's well that ends gel, and where the pigeons get taken for a Pro-Ride. Life sometimes serves up an imitation dirt sandwich, and the only thing for it is to get up, spit out the vinyl and stabilizers, and move on (without the dot-org).

Patrick,

I'm a little partial to Mack/Volvo trucks, having been previously employed at the Hagerstown engine facility for 29 years. :) Maybe when the weather turns around in a few months, you will get a chance to visit one of those small racing agricultural fairs in the west and mid-west. If you have never visited one of them, you are missing an excellent (and unique) experience!

It seems that I may be stranded out in what is called DelMarVa, a penisula I

think and eventually I will end up Monday night in Nags Head, NC.

I am not sure where any OTB are out here, I believe Dover Downs is out here

And a harness track, called Harrington, I think, not too sure though.

Any one got any ideas on thing to do out here, or where to go to play, I

would appreciate your help.

Delaware, has racing, Virginia has racing, maryland has racing, but NC does

not have racing (horses) in it, but cars.

Thanks for your time

My weekend here at Bangor Maine harness track OTB, Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately I did not meet up with anyone, but had fun here none-the-less.

Nice people, pretty women, very helpful, down to earth people, they go out of their way to make you feel at home. Customer service was tops, great people.

They do serve beer, and soda, but no food, except peanuts and pretzels, but no hard stuff or food.

It was a harness track and I did have a problem getting Thoroughbred racetracks up on the TV, because too many harness tracks were running, and they have a limit of 12 tracks that can be seen at one time.

I again paid for my weekend with my pony play, and even had a nice dinner at Capt. Nick's restuarant and 3 day stay a 4 Points Sheraton Hotel. I only took 1 good Trifecta and 2 pick 3's to be profitable for the weekend. Hopefully this run will keep up, as I have been having some tough time lately, but it sure is better when you win and pay for your weekend, or a few weekends.

Well Take care, I believe my next stop will be Finger Lakes this week about mid-week and thru the weekend, so upstate New York and Pennsylvania, look out I will be in your area this week, as I have a week off to roam the area, and I have yet to make any soild plans, so anyone have opinions, please let me know.

I suppose many handicapping software users stay home. When I go to the OTB or the track, I am usually the only one equipped with a notebook computer. The bad thing with having a computer at the track with you is that it brings attention. Many times I had players approach me and ask for picks. Then you have the old timers shaking their heads at you like you're and idiot because you do not use a form and pencil.

Glad to see you are doing well at the windows - if in Philly, contact me.

He won't be the favorite but he won't be a longshot either. I like #4 Chilean Gem in the 8th at Aqueduct. Salvaggio knows what he's doing and Diaz wins around 12% of his races at Penn National which is good enough for me.

If you are looking for longshots by the 8th at Aqueduct, PK, this is not the horse. But if you are doing well, Chilean Gem may be worthwhile.

Today I met up with a member who also showed up earlier this week at Finger Lakes, he had no trouble finding me at such a small track at Finger Lakes, but we had fun there and I learned a few things from him, so a big thanks man.

We did not fix a few things wrong with my horse program,or my laptop possibly, but it still picks winner's, so it can't be all that bad, as here is a link to the contest results

http://www.fingerlakesracetrack.com/media/RaceResults.pdf

I was told my horse in the last race threw a shoe, or who knows what would'a happened, not bad for my 1st in person tourney, watch out guys here I come, ( gals too), a New Kid is in Town, or traveling thru it at least.

My truck blew a hose clamp and drained losta fluid, nice green gooey stuff, but thank you all for your prayers, as it was not something serious, thanks very much for those prayers they work, please keep it up, thanks.

Still looking for work, and not sure where to head, maybe Chicago area, Iowa sounded good, at least there I could get a home cooked meal.

Any idea's or suggestion will be welcomed, as things are tightning up out here and it seems you must know someone to get a job now, so if you know someone, tell them about me, not working sucks.

I would love to sell my truck for 13k or so and become the world's best horseplayer ever, but that may have to wait awhile to happen, any body need a truck, I'll give you a great deal, about 2/3's cheaper than a dealer would cost ya, that's for sure, just give me a call (PM will do). Help me become the Worlds Best Handicapper, but my truck, and the rest will be history, right??

Oh well, life goes on

Take Care

An update for this traveling one man show, I will be headed to the Municie , Indiana area to have my computer worked on, I bought it there.

about 350 miles from here

Still deciding to have XP put on it, or have Vista put back on, after a wipe.

Job prospects are somewhat so so in this area, I have one company saying they are hiring, and after 35-50 calls today to places that either closed or have a hiring freeze on this was good. That was scary too.

They also have the newly opened Racino at Hoosier Park in Andeson, In, about 20 miles away from there, possible meeting place for any hoosiers out there???

Thanks for your replies and encouragement, it is all appreciated

More to come

Yes that is right, I will be at Hoosier Park Opening Weekend, so come out and see the 1 man traveling truck driving horse player show, there will be fun for one and all, guaranteed. Well maybe not guaranteed, but....

Hoosier has the Harness, Buggies-to me, running, starting at 4:45 pm ET.

I had a buggy guy going to help me at Dover Downs , but he dissapppeared , I just hope he's ok as I have not heard from since that time, about 3 weeks ago, or so. Y'all Know him as LottaKash, he has dropped from sight, hope all is right with him and his family, prayers out for him too please.

Update on the job thingy, I may have found something, but not sure yet, will keep y'all updated though as I learn more, it will be working for people I already know, that is the good news as they know how well I work, I do not have to convince them , they know.

Well mor elater and let me know if y'all want to meet up in Hoosier Park thois weekend or thursday or Friday, or maybe even tommorrow, wensday too, goodlord too many days, well happy wagering .

Hoosier Park Update

I got flustered today, overwhelmed with the bets I had to make, and then passing races that I should have played, and playing the races that I should have passed , I dented my bank pretty hard today, down over 1/3rd, oh well.

The buggies here at Hoosier on opening week have me guessing at best, but with my bank gone almost, i will just spot play my dinner money. My buggy friend has dissappeared on me, so no tips for Hoosier today.

I am here all weekend, it would be noice to find someone to play the ponies with here at Hossier, some one to help me with passing when I should, as I am still working on the not playing every races thingy, but also choosing winners, which I did, but at 3.60 and 2.80 and 4.20 or so, they will not pay anyhting , even in P3's or DD or Exacta's, but they will eat up my money, as my 3-4 hammer time plays got out hammered today.

Well I did get hired , should start next week, so lets make this a wonderful weekend of horse play here, why not???

Thanks Man, it was all the prayers from the board that got me in the right place at the right time, great board here Bossman.

Now if I can just get this computer working right, as it has now refuses to boot up properly, I had to get it to boot up in safe mode, but otherwise it worn't work.

And then picking winners for the weekend, may have to resort to the old fashioned way, with the form.

How quick can I buy a cheap comoputer online, and have overnight, wait this is Thursday, so I am screwed for the weekend, as far as getting a new by Friday or Saturday, maybe Wal-Mart. Ideas????

Thanks Again

I got an ACER mini at Walmart for $299 - 8.9" screen, lightweight, the size of a book and it is really nice. The small screen is really no problem to see, and I use it with HTR, CJ, BRIS PPs, no issues at all.

It is perfect for carrying to the track or simo facility. Or setting on the dash of a truck!

Congrats on the job......if you look for them , they are there!

I've got a Samsung NC-10. It's a bit bigger than Tom's - 10" screen but a great little package (it fits inside my 17" laptop bag!). I get about 5 1/2 hours out of the battery, it has bluetooth capability - along with a bluetooth/internet capable phone I have internet access. If I'm at the track and need to get up from my seat, I just pick it up and go.
I wouldn't recommend it for all types of work - like researching a new spot play for instance, but then again, I don't like any laptop for that kind of heavy duty computer work. The only real downside is that it is too small to have a DVD drive. A flash drive comes in handy for where the contents of a DVD can be copied on another machine (other laptop?) or you have the option of buying an external DVD drive.

All that being said, I'm not sure the NC-10 is available at Wally world, probably not.

Thanks guys, Bill , Tom and Mike

I would love to get a XP laptop, as I do need the computer to do all the work, and right now I have about 80gb of data with HSH to have to work with and it keeps getting bigger and bigger.

SO about minimum 2-4gb of ram or ddr ram, i think

then about 250 gb hard drive

15-17" wide screen I think

not sure what video set-up I need, help please

Not sure if Vista home edition with SP1, would it work

not sure what I can get for about 500-600, new --- not refurbished, unless someone here has a computer store, with good priced laptops, pm me, or else I will get new ones, and then have the old ond wiped clean and have vista reinstalled as a back up, or maybe something else.

About 9-10 months ago, I needed a quick replacement for my Dell Inspiron 17 inch laptop and initially I was going to order the same thing from Dell. However, since a replacement ordered through dell.com came with a $1,200 tag and was going to take 3 weeks for them to deliver it me and I needed a replacement of some kind IMMEDIATELY, I found a much more affordable alternative at Best Buy. I never would have looked there but someone else in the office had just purchased a laptop and recommended it. I ended up purchasing a 17 inch w/hi-def screen Hewlett Packard for $599 at Best Buy and it took less time then when I bought and Ipod. I personally like having a 17 inch laptop because its fantastic for spreadsheet work (it is also really nice on those occasions when I use Formulator). The only drawbacks to the Hewlett Packard versus the more expensive Dell Inspiron I previously were (1) its less sturdy (also less heavy) then the Dell, with the Dell 17 inch you could knock someone unconscious pretty easily as it was pretty heavy and it could take a lickin, whereas with the Hewlett Packard it would require more effort as it was half the weight and it won't be able to take it, (2) The Hewlett Packard came with Vista which lets face it sucks and (3) It came without any MS Office software (or any other software for that matter) so I had to purchase that separately. Hope this is helpful and glad to hear you found a new job in a relatively short period of time.

Update

I am still at Hoosier Park Racino, down today thru bad, bad discipline in manageing my bets and amount of bets , but.... I also had a ruff day with picking winners too.

Down about 30% of bank and still felt I coulda got out of the day okay, as I was live to 5 horses in a double/pick3/and a pick4 to , yes count them 5 horses, and still lost, that would have made me a winner, but oh well, that's racing.

Still not sure about this dang computer, if putting in the trash and getting a new one with XP ON IT!!!!!

May need help with that , but will post it in computer section.

It seems that I start ,my new job today, and I am heading to Dallas,Tx.

Not sure about sitting there for the weekend or not, hopefully not, as great a weekend as I had at Hoosier Park, I still need to get back to work, but don't worry I will get to your local soon enough.

Ask all those who have met up with this world famous horse player, they undoubtly enjoyed the afternoon experience.

Well till the next stop in theis wonderful traveling show, take care and good luck.

I am leaving Dallas,Tx. for delivery in Jacksonville, Fl, for Monday morning.

I figure to travel about 450-650 miles today/tonight, headed down I-49 thru Louisiana to I-10 and across to Joacksonville.

I would like to take Saturday off somewhere and watch the races, maybe eat some cajun cookin' and then drive the rest of the way to Jax, Fl on Sunday, keeping it under 650 miles or so, the less the better...

La. has OTB in it, Mobile, Al has a greyhound facitlity, man that a long drive though, almost too far, Missisippi, has nothing I think, not OTB, anyway??

Any suggestions, people, if so let me know, as I know near I-49 and I-10 is a race track too, near Lafayette, I think.

Well good luck and till we meet somewhere Take Care

YES I HAVE BEEN BOOTED FRON EVANGELINE DOWNS:ThmbDown:

They no longer have truck and tractor trailer parking , call them at 337-594-3000 and ask for yourself.

What is it with Louisiana Racetracks, now I was told we worked the issue out at Delta Downs, but this is new rules at EVD, why??

Do people not know that this country will stop dead in it's tracks if we, the truckers of America, stop rolling, how do you think you get the stuff you use each and every day, it comes from us, the trucks, we bring it to you. But enough with the whining, let's move on, where to next along I-10 headed to Jacksonville, for tommorrow, maybe, as I might as well drive today, even with all the Derby races going today, 750 miles is a few mikes, and I might as well knock a few out today, make tommorrow an easy day.

Well more to come later, just thought I would mention this , to me, an injustice, as the new parking lots have all been recently painted and no truck spaces are there.

Possibly, America knows that if we allow truck drivers to park in race track lots, America will stop rolling and come to a standstill because all of the truck drivers will follow their hunches and seek buffet lunches.

It seems that Horse playing days are going to be limited for awhille, with any attempt at building a Bank for Derby Day leaves me with only about 24 days to build one.

Nothing like a Derby Superfecta to start off the New Year, or Mid Year at least, and if I am stuck here for a few days, here is what I may go do......

If you make it into Hunt Valley by Saturday afternoon, you'll be equi-distance from Penn National and Charles Town - both are about an 1.5 hour drive from Hunt Valley. Personally I'd recommend you check out Charles Town. You'll also drive right by the Maryland State Fairgrounds, which is about 5 miles or so from Hunt Valley. Fasig-Tipton holds a yearling and two-yr-old in-training sale at the fairgrounds each yr. But this time of yr, I don't think there's anything going on.

I may try to get to Charles Town, and if not then maybe the MD. State Fairgrounds as a backup plan.

Again thank you for the options, as I am stiil IN Indiana , so I need to do some driving this morning, only got about 500-600 miles or so to drive this weekend, not too much, which means not too much pay either, but that is another story.

gentlemen and Ladies too

Updating my situation, about a third of my keyboard is missing, the screen is falling off the hinges, actually it already has.

I may be able to wing for a bit but very very soon the screen will rip completly out with all the wires going with it. And I will be without a computer and thus the updates will be no more for awhile, yes the ECONOMY has fiinally gotten me good.

Y'all know of my recent lay-off, well the new job I got does not even come close to paying my bills, about 15% of what I need to survive, so 500 for a new or used computer will not be available anytime soon, and that is okay I guess, I may have withdrawls for a few days but hopefully I will get over it.

But the most saddest part in all this is that I will not be able to PLAY THE KY. DERBY THIS YEAR, YEP, THE DERBY HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY DREAM TO HIT THE BIG PAYOUT AND EACH YEAR BIG PAYOUT'S COME ALONG, LAST YEAR THE SUPERFECTA WAS 58,000 WITH BB ON TOP, MAN THAT TO ME IS BIG TIME MONEY, HECK this year seems to be shaping up for a possible huge exacta and trifecta, maybe 2-3k for exacta and 5k or more for the tri, to me a dirt poor truck driver that is a lot of money, I KNOW THIS SOUNDS WHITE TRASHY AND MAYBE IT IS, BUT this dream has been my dream for years now, and yes many people tell me to give up on it, but ask yourself , in my shoes would you, HECK NO, why should I, but this YEAR I will have no Bankroll to play, yep after making 150,000 gross last year, I had about 140,000 in bills to show the IRS, leaving me a measly 10k for me to enjoy, WOW, not much.

Now I making progress with my program ,HSH and working with Dave has had it's up and downs, trust me, but HE WAS ALWAYS THERE, even when I got kinda crazy, wodering if I would ever learn that program, and the fellow users too, without them I never would have , they all were great, even if I got a little wierd now and again, many thanks to all of them.

Now I may be able to use a computer once in awhile and hope I can save the new H6 on my back up thingy and may be able to use it that way for awhile, but not too often, maybe when I check into a motel with a business center for us to use I can check emails and such, maybe even get into H6 too, at leasst download from HDW my data if I can keep paying the bills for it, and I should be able to, as it too is reasonable enough, and Ron is the best guy to work with , many thanks Ron.

I do have learning materila to learn from and few books still to re-read, amd just got the dozen Dick Mitchell videos and still have 18 or HSH videos to watch also, so maybe a small dvd player for about 59-99.00 might work for now, i should be able to get that i a week or so I guess.

All you guys helped me in one way or another and I do not want to let you guys down, as I told each one of you that I will make it doing this and I meant every word of it, I really did, even though all is stacked against me I will not quit this journey to handicapping success, as I know I am on my way there, just this last year I have made tremendous strides forward, y'all know this , you have seen and watched my progress, and my whinning and bitching and postings, some of you got fed up with me others just took it in stride, but all of you have helped me and thank you for that, I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN, NO WAY

THANK YOU ALL
GOOD LUCK
MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL, AND ALWAYS WILL BE

Thank you all

My computer was not made for bouncing around in my truck, as you saw the screen came loose and it takes me about 10-15 minutes to get it to turn on, and then it will crap out right in the middle of something, very frustrating , but , oh wet

I am still sad over not being able to truly play the Ky. Derby this year, may be able to take an advance of say 100.00 and try something, but not even sure about that yet, man when you you get hit by the Big E , it really takes your breathe away, as I was , or so I thought rolling along Okay, and then the job layoff, and then this new job paying about a 1/3 300-450 a week not what I was expecting and so, that leaves ,me looking for another job, which out here right now are very few available good jobs, ( a good job pays 800-1500 ) , when Minimum Bills Toatal over 2100.00 a month, make it real hard to survive, but I am , besides I have 400lbs of fat to help me survive.

Honestly my plan is as follows, and I could use some help with this, please. (Planning advice , good idea or not)

I owe 3600.00 left on my truck, it is roughly valued at 20-24k retail.

I plan to pay it off, without new job could take awhile, 6-12 months, maybe less with better job.

After paying it off, then working hard to fix it up well enough, (new tires, approx $3000, a new seat 500 and a few other minor things 500) about another 4k put into it, and then put it up for sale for 15,000.00 if I can, all the while working it and trying to save what I can , BUT ALL THIS WILL GO SO MUCH BETTER IF I FIND THAT BETTER JOB TO HELP PAY FOR THESE THINGS QUICKER, STILL MAYBE A 6-12 MONTH, TIMEFRAME, WISH IT WAS 6 MONTHS...

Now comes the real hard part of this scenario, I am also looking for a condo/townhome for cheap in South Florida near GP and Calder, somewhere around 25-50k the cheaper the better,( now these condo's are available, just look on Realtor.co, and see for yourself) being 1st time home buyer may help, may not, my credit doesn't help me though, kinda sad, a repoed truck a few years back, but noe-the-less I am trying to get financed to get a foreclosed condo if possible in S. Fla., remember I was born in Miami Beach, die hard Dolphin fan, and love the Gulfstream, the water current in the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida coast, right off Ft.Lauderdale/Miami/Hollywood area, so I will get to go fishing too, on the party boats, they are still about 25-40.00 a trip, and they do catch fish too.

So if I can get a new home in south Florida, that would be great, if not , then after I sale my truck, depending on what I got for it, I will then take the chance to become a horseplayer in South Florida, with at least 2 Bankrolls of 5,000.00, the other 5k would be used to pay for a 6 month rental somewhere down near my tracks, I will still be able to find some type of work, part-time, like maybe driving the sedan cars, y'all wealthy people know what I mean , it is a step-up from cab driving

Let me save this as i am flashing here and continue if I dont lose this , okay hers goes

My plan part 2

Where were we, oh yeah, selling my truck and taking the money to try my hand at horseplaying for real, why not you only live once right??

Here are the reasons I wish to do this, there are a few and to me they make sense, let me know what you think okay.

1. I am showing very good promise with my HSH program, even though I can not use it everyday, I do try to download to keep current, but the HSH user's and Dave never gave up on me, they may have gotten very angry a few time w/me, but were always there for me and it has finally started to pay off a little bit, all test runs have been very positive looking, and being broke allows you to study what would been so much esasier, but then you also get frustrated that you aren't playing for real money yet, but should I be, not yet, but I am close, very close to getting there, and have pleny of DVD's from HSH to watch and learn more from, about 20 dvd's to watch and watch and watch, while I am working trying to pay off this truck and ifx it up a bit to sell it.

2 Not only do I have the HSH video's I recntly got Dick Mitchell's 12 video set too, and that will give many hours of study time too, I figure out here on the road I have about 2-6hrs a day of not driving where I could watch the DVD's and then 10-11 hours of driving where I could be , only listening to theses dvd's, absorbing this stuff completly, until it is second nature to me, and it will be , trust me my desire to make it too great, NOW I KNOW MY 1 DOWNFALL MAY BE MY DISCIPLINE, AS I AM WORKING ON IT, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE WINNING THE BATTLE RIGHT NOW, THIS IS WHERE IT WOULD PAY FOR ME TO GET A MENTOR OR PARTNER, TO HELP ME CONTROL IT, TO KEEP ME IN LINE AND ON TRACK, NOT TO SAY IT CAN'T BECOME OKAY BY MYSELF, BUT HAVING SOMEONE TO HELP WOULD BE BETTER, WE WILL SEE HOW IT PLAYS OUT, I GUESS.

3. Another reason to try to become a Professional is that it would get me out the truck which is slowly killing me, I was 275lbs when I started driving a truck, I am now over 400lbs, I must get out of this truck and work on my health, my dieat and excersie, otherwise I will be dead in a few years and that to me would suck, because being broke and alive is still better than dead any day, to me it is, becuae you always have your dreams to reach for, and man am I streching it out straining the old tendons too the max, but at least there is some sort of underlining plan involved here, it is not just let me take 2-5000 BR's and go play the ponies and hope for the best, nope not that at all.

4. I need my health back, and getting out of this truck will help me do that, even if for 6 months, during that time I will be able to come up with a better diet and excersie program and should be able to get me losing some of this 400lbs, because now I am losing none, and I am excersing very very little, and diet, well there is none, not now at least.

5. Please note that I was able to quit smoking after 2 packs a day for 20yrs or so, but managed to put on about 75lbs after stopping too, Chantix medication helped me to quit, and I am done, now I need to get my weight under control, i love living, i really do, and God willing this little hiatus just may save my life, maybe, but there is that discipline thing, but on this issue I feel I will find plenty of support people, neighbors, etc.., should not be too hard
another quick save ok

Part 3

let's see I was at my health issue's, stopped smoking and now must tackle the 400lbs weight issue, getting out of the truck will help me do it too.

6. Getting a condo , if I can get financed that is, for about 25k to 50k , these condo's normally sell for about 75-150k , thus giving me some instant equity if I am lucky enough to get the right condo, it could happen, at least that is part of the plan, what do y'all think, is this possible?????

7. How hard would it be to pay off a 25-50k mortage loan, not too hard if things work out right, 30k loan should give me low low payments, so adding to it should be asy enough, worst case I go back out into the truck driving to help pay it off , if it comes to that, but it should not.

Well there is my kinda life plan, what do you guys and gals think, after you stop laughing so hard, could this stand a chance of success, could I become the Ex world famous 400lb truck driving horse player, I hope so, but at least ai now have a mission , but may find both getting financed and selling the truck may be just too hard to do, or unable to do, God I hope not, really I do.

If I get a new job within the next month things will go better, if not then things may get worse, but selling this truck after paying it off, will be the only way for me to try my dream, the condo thing would be nice, but it too may be only a dream, but as they, ( who are they ) , say , dreams do come true, well now you guys know mine, DO I STAND A CHANCE, YES I DO.

I am surprised my computer has done so well tonight, but i secured it very very good, and am tapping lightly on these keys, and the missing keys still work too, if they don't get stuck, but overall I am amazed this thing is like an old Timex Commercial, takes llicking and keeps on ticking, lol

Well I will try to get back here this weekend and read this if I can and also put a post in the Triple Crown forum too.

Thanks for the prayers , as I pray for y'all too
I will survive, I always have so far, but being White Trash is what it is, Trashy at times, and others not so bad really, it could be worse, and I am thankful for what I got, but believe me I am trying to get a little more, not a lot, just a little more, that's all

If I were you I would try to put the professional horseplayer plan on hold until you have a good income and better health. Getting out of your truck and behind a table at the racetrack and desk at home isn't going to get your weight down. Instead of risking your bankroll play on paper or for small amounts until you have proven to yourself that you can truly turn enough of a profit to pay the bills.

Your plan or dream sounds like a lot of poker players who think they can beat the game and head to Vegas with their hard earned bankroll and before they know it POOF it's gone. We always hear about the few that make it big but never about the many, many who go busto. IMO, it is much easier to make money playing poker than it is playing the horses and I do both recreationally but would hate like hell to be placing bets needing to win so I could make my monthly bills, YIKES!!

If I understood your condo purchase plan correctly in that condos that were going for 150K are now down to 30K. If you pay 30K for the condo now that doesn't mean you have gained any equity unless someone else is willing to pay the 150K or more than what you paid. The bank will tell you that quickly with an approved or denied loan:) If you have time and are not fussy look for a condo that needs work. Paint, carpet, damaged sheetrock ugly or broken fixtures etc......... and you can gain a lot of equity with a little bit of work if that is something you can handle. Buy one of the worse condos in a complex and bring up to compare with the best and you will at least have a good idea of what it will be worth when you are done:)

Good luck with whatever you do.

I agree with the last poster - don't try to become a professional handicapper until you've taken care of your health issues. It's too stressful and the odds of success are low. Even if it works for you, you'll most likely make less than you would at a regular full-time job.

I've read your posts, and you're obviously an intelligent person. I think you should settle down somewhere, find full-time work, and enroll in some night classes at a community college. There are a lot of federal programs that can help you with the costs.

As for the condo, prices are certainly at depressed levels in south Florida at this point, but I'd still be careful. Condo association fees can go up significantly as other owners are foreclosed on. If you can swing the townhouse, where fees are typically much more modest, that's what I would suggest. Last thing, the unemployment rate in Florida is just shy of 10%. I think there are other areas of the country where it will be much easier - make that less difficult - to find work.

Good luck.

Gentlemen this is my 4th attempt at replying here on this machine of mine, each time it dies or cuts out, let me hope I got it really secure this time.

I agree with all that becoming well enough to pay the bills, is a very tall order, and even though I got the World's Best Program, HSH, or so I was told, even with it, I still am making progress to becoming better, and have been playing with HMI Money Management and a few other things that seem to be holding up, but then nothing is the same as when you use real money, NOTHING.

My capping skills are pretty good and now with all the help from HSH and others from this board i may be close to taking a chance, why not ,if all fails, then back to trucking, or something else like, maybe comdey writing for NBC.

South Florida is a part of me, I want no where else to try to make it, and yes Condo fees have me worried, maybe you are right getting a fixer-upper in the so-so neighborhood and try fixing it , if this is possible, but maybe I may be better off without all that and just get one of those small studio's ,that So. Florida is famous for, 1 payments takes care of everything, no insurance, no utiilities, and everything else, and, if lucky I can get something for about 400-700 a month, maybe cheaper than all the headache's of ownership, possible, yes...unpratical but so what, if I become successful with the horses, then who knows, right.

It seems that I have learned a lot the past year from so many and yes I got much more to learn and will keep at it, learning that is, but need to pay-off this truck, then fix it up just a bit and sell it for my money needed to try this crazy stunt , as it should give me at least 2 , 5k bankrolls, alot and and not really alot , either, but done right and slowly it could work out.

Making 750-1500 a month should be just enough to survive on, but I may need more like 2500 to be comfy I think.

But all this will be mute/non-exisistent if I can not pay off this truck and then sell it for something reasonable and soon too, not like next year or in the winter, before summer is done, hopefully.

Toady I find out that I got another injector going out and will have to replace it very very soon, another 500-800 , man it just keeps coming at you, but I JUST KEEEP SMILING AND PRAYING ALL WILL WORK OUT OKAY, what else can I do, fix it and move on to the next problem and overcome that too, until I get to the point that the truck is ready to be sold, and sell it, and then move on to what's next.

I guess this thread has run it's course, the fun of it is over.

You use to maybe like reading about the idoit driving all over the country trying to learn how to handicap along the way, well I am still learmning, and when I truly need to win , even the small 2.00 win bets, and 1.00 exacta's to try and build a small bankroll for the Big Day next Sauturday, I have failed completely, YES I HAVE, nothing I bet won, NOTHING, 5/2 or 9/2 , heck even 3/2 over 4/1 and 7/2 in exacta's lost, nothing for the last 3 weeks or more, very small attempts at building a small BR , have went awry, oh well.

Know all you guys who said this would happen were right, tell me now, YOU TOLD ME SO, and you were right, when it came down to crunch time, I could not perform up to the task, I fell on my face, nothing, at total fffffing FLOP.

Question is now do I quit , HELL NO, but as for the Derby this year, yes I guess I will surrender playing it this year, heck I have no choice, I am making no money, and may lose my truck with only 4 payments left on it, just alousy 3000.00 or so, I ALMOST MADE IT , THEN THIS DANG ECONOMY GOT ME, but what did you expect I am a low life truck driver trying to play in the big leagues, I can't even play the game , let alone play with the big boys, but I will keep praticing and who knows maybe in 20-30years, if I am still alive, remember I am 400+lbs, I just might be a little better.

My only hope is that this years watermelon crop will pay what they did last year and maybe, just mabye I can still pay off this truck, fand try to sell it for a small something, and until then I will keep studying and learning, as I have proven to all that I can't handle the pressure, andI am just A WHITE TRASH 400LB TRUCK DRIVING WANNABE, for now at least, so watch out, I may be back someday, but some of you can follow me somewhat on Twitter, but in all honesty, I would not follow me on there as all I do is bitch and complain of all the ffffing porblems that come up, each and everyday, (you know it's what they call LIFE OF A TRUCK DRIVER ) , so it is not too pleasant to read and maybe I may start just putting on there where I am, and leave the BS off it and make it more enjoyable to those who wish to follow, few I'm sure, but that is it.

Thanks again

I will be back on here , asking a few things now and again

But for harrassing my fellow handicappers with trying to meet up, I will cease to harrass y'all with it, and let this die.

Good luck all

Patrick

I sense frustration with things that have happened like the economy tanking he had no control over. Many of us would be in serious trouble if we were to miss a couple of paychecks.

Patrick, we all wish you well, plus good health and safety. I know how hard the trucking business is on all the men and women who drive on our the highways daily, especially in this economy. But know, you guys and gals have my respect and admiration for your hard work and dedication.

As far as the melons, they will start flowing in May from Florida and work their way north through the Carolinas. I hope they pay well for you this year. It's a short season for melons, May to July. When you want to return here, know your friends will leave the light on for you.

May Gods Blessings be upon you, my friend.

It's been a fun "ride", but the inevitable has reared it's head (if it is ugly or not is up to you)....the horses have gone cold on you. Just like everything else in life. Cards go cold. Bones go cold. Hell, even people will go cold on you.

I hope that as you "step back" you will do a gut check as to what are your true priorities.... for me, mine have changed as the 1st of the year. Health, family, friends, horses; in that order. Without your health, none of the others are possible.

I don't want this to be a lecture. But if you trully feel you are now on the bottom, time to plan a way to ascend the mountain one more time. And a plan is how you get 'er done.

Define what is the most important to you. I see soooooo much opportunity. You have shared your goals and your dreams. You are this far <holding his thumb and his index finger close together> from getting that truck paid off. You then OWN it. It is yours outright. That would be one of my first immediate goals.

Your health. Skip that second sandwich and take a walk. Get a dog to take on the road with you once the job situation has stabilized. You will be forced to walk him. Yes, it's another expense, but you are skipping that second sandwich, right? Not to mention you have given an animal in a shelter a second chance (try to find a kill-shelter to adopt from). Your soul will feel that much better and there is NO better companionship! Those long walks are a great time to contemplate the rest of your goals. If you trully are 400 lbs you may not like it at first, but push thru it!

I would not worry about the condo right now. Banks are tight on their credit right now, and not having a stable job will probably play against you anyway. Make the condo a longer range goal. With truck equity this will help in the future as well.

Horses.... where to start? No software, no one approach, no magic buttons, no magic formulae....it is one tough business, if one is true to themselves. The human mind tends to remember the good hits, the good times. For some reason it is the bad times that are ignored. Until Lady Luck sucker-punches you and reveals her true self. We bet races we have no business being involved in and when we feel we have an edge, it disappears on the turn as our horse is boxed in and can't make his move. One day we are on top of the world, the next we wonder why the hell we even play this game. We read it is tough. We think we are better. It starts within, like everything else. Without the drive, without the determination, what is there?

I have enjoyed your posts and trully am sorry we did not hook up when you were out at PRM. But, remember, the grill is always hot in Iowa, and we stock steak in the freezer year 'round. I wish you nothing but the best. Get the "can do attitude" and there is nothing a person can't do! Prioritize. Vizualize. Realize.

Keep trucking! All the best!

Donnie this one post has hit me the most, and yet it still didn't get me out walking, but the dog thing may be a reality, as I am looking into it. But if it doesn't then I will have to find anew home for the dog if I do not get out and excesise him proeperly, play with him, etc..... Also I had plenty of private Msg's and request to bring this thread back as many people enjoyed it, well I am still traveling the country, not playing horses as much lately, but that too may change soon, fingers crossed, so I will ask if you want this back or not.

I have no problem blogging ( i guess that is what I'd be doing, basically??) here and let me people know where I would be and try to meet as many of you as possible, why not. Any idea what started the fire?

pktruckdriver
03-05-2010, 08:56 AM
Yes I call Steve once in awhile, not too often thou.

Not positive on the fire, but possibly , a tire blew, it got tangled up and caught the wheel seal on fire, and well those are just too hard to get out with a fire extinguisher, but I did try. If the officer who 1st arrived had a fire extinguisher, who knows maybe we could have saved the trailer, but then maybe not, I won't say for sure, but I thoght police were suppose to have Fire extinguisher, oh well.

Too bad I could not figure out how write a story about this , some say a movie or 2 is in this post somewhere, any one want to help me look for it, let me know.

Currently I am in Daytona Beach and would always be willing to meet up with anyone anytime, heck I even went up to Winnepeg, to Assinobia Downs and was , well another story.

Woodbine was fun even old Buffaalo Raceway, Santa Anita, Tampa, Portland , Prarie Meadows, and many more, all were fun and I would do it again if given another chance.

see ya out there one day
