They should call Yonker's Management and ask "How did that 1-1/16th work out for you?":)

Handle was up 22% ($1,394,857) on first Monday, will it last?

Don't like this idea, Stb's pace or trot a Mile, keep it that way.

Hey Postime, yes on that......

ONe of the beautiful things about Harness Racing, is the consistency of the 1-mile race.......Keeping records is oh so simple with each race at 1-mile, and now they want to go and complicate things......

Ray, nailed it about Yonkers, they had the 1-1/16 races for a good long while and they finally saw the light and dropped them, I hope this will happen at
Woodbine....

I for one will not support Woodbine on this and I will make my opinion known to them shortly.....

best,

Article explaining why Woodbine is experimenting with race miles.
Might spend $1.3 million to move the finish line.

I am not a harness guy so forgive me if I have the wrong year.

I believe that the Meadowlands carded a 4-mile race on February 29, 1996 on Leap Day. I will never forget that race. I think that every horse had the lead twice.

I must have missed that one, Stu, sounds like a way to get your moneys worth:)

Georgian Downs does one night a year with 1 7/8 miles, clockwise racing, 18 horse fields etc.
one night a year is fun but I'll stick the mile

BTW the temps in my last post must be Centigrade, didn't want to freeze you Canadians that much:)
