about a month ago he was calling for accountability within the mutual pools. he wasn't accusing anyone of wrong doing, he was just sick of odds changing during the running of the race.

i praised the man for this. did he get tired of this or was he told to keep his mouth shut by the powers that be?

odds are still changing during the running of the races including exotic payoffs, money is being withdrawn from the pools while the races are running.

is it possible for anyone out there to adress this situation?
the reason i bring this up is i have 2 degenerate friends that have been betting on horseracing for over 25 years quit together for over 3 months and have vowed not to come back to the game until this ever gets straightened out. i wonder with the state of the racing industry, how many others have quit for these same reasons?

They just did a piece on "60 Minutes" tonight about a couple of the poker web sites being fixed by guys with insider info, i. e., the ability to see other players' hands. They worked for the sites, and hacked into the software.

The reason I bring it up is, like our game, there is little oversight in that industry, and the corruption was exposed by a couple of honest players who had had enough of the clear cheating that was obviously going on, and they did a little digging into the situation. That may be what it takes for this practice to come to an end, since it's obvious that no one with any kind of "juice" is going to look into it.

i appreciate your post hawk, i have complained of this for a long time now, i get pm'd that they tell me i have sour grapes because i am losing.

in my opinion this is the NUMBER 1 problem that needs to be adressed imediately in this game.

the game has the bigest chance they will ever have to revive itself right now!

hawk you found the reason. how can you play cards or play casino games online and know that you are not being swindled? in the horse racing game you can see the live race right on your television set in your home. how can the racing industry not take advantage of that?

instead they chose to have disputes over how much money the adw's get that handle the homebased wagering. are they really this stupid? they are, NTRA came up with the slogan "go baby go". they should listen to themselves and take a hike.

I saw one today go from 14=1 to 7-1 after the bell.......... :bang:

I understand why it happens.............but it sure looks bad

Yes, this is what is killing the game. I've had 6 winners today. All of them went down at least 2 points while the race was going on. :bang:

ritz, i just want to ask you, how can that possibly happen to all 6 winners?

it happened to me today on an exacta @ rideau carleton, it went from $41 down to 32 after the race was over.

Don't be at all surprised some day to see your horse scratched while he's leading in a race . :bang:

4 different tracks, and this didn't just happen to the horses I won on. It happened in many other races as well. I played about 40 races today, and saw this happen a bunch of times.

I've known for years about certain poker sites cheating by letting cohorts see all of the players' hands. It was blatant and obvious. I solved it by not playing at those sites anymore.

The past-post-betting has been going on for years, to. Other than not play, there isn't much you can do. Until the industry gets its head out of its ass and decides to clean up the drugging, fixing, late betting, and all the pigheaded nonsense going on, about all we can do is keep complaining, vote with our feet, and hope the powers that be notice (for a change).

does it just happen to horses that are on the lead?

i am noticeing it is happening in the show pools lately. i see horses that have $1500 bet in the show pool with less than 1 minute to place and when they runout they have $1200 on them. in the same race i see horses that have had $1000 on them wind up with $2500 on them.

i have complained to the mutual departments and one guy told me that if i didn't see the odds change i wouldn't complain. he was going to try to get the track to stop posting the odds on television. that happened 2 years ago. he said he had to many phone calls complaining about the same thing and he was to busy with other things on his job to worry about some poor sucker complaining about meaningless changes in odds. i guarantee you that if this guy got his paycheck 10 minutes late he'd have his boss arrested.

maybe i sound like a cry baby, but the one good thing about this board is that there are alot of people that read it, maybe they don't have the nerve to post, but they know what is bothering the horseplayers of america. i wonder why the horse player groups like this hana deal does not look into this. they complain about the takeout and signal distribution all the time. why don't they take up this unimportant matter?

Couldn't agree with you more Lambo. I've complained about this for years at my oval, and most guys give the old "there's money coming in late from all the off track sites and that's why the odds are changing" speech. It's nice to actually know that there are others who know this there is skull-duggery going on.

I saw the 60 minutes piece tonight and I'm glad someone already mentioned it. I've been concerned about pool integrity for a while and have posted so.

But I can't prove it so I'm wrong-don't have access to player information...
