Several of Taylor Mades top stallions have had a pretty decent reduction in their fees. Included in this reduction is Officer, dropped from $40,000 to $15,750 here are the others:
Unbridled Song 112,500
Forest Danger 36,000
Master Command 13,500
Northern Afleet 6,750
Southern Image 6,750

All of these fees are due and payable by November 1st 2009 these fees represent an early discount fee for stand and nurse foals. Fees are slightly higher if you elect to wait for the mare to drop the foal. This is more proof that the breeding industry is not immune to the current economic climate. It would be nice to see other farms follow Taylor Mades decision to do this. The September and November Keeneland sales were not good. January will be worse. Keeneland may need to drop their fees to buyers and sellers(consigners) as well.

Some don't produce enough quality horses, others are due to the downturn in the economy.

Lane's End dropped their fees twice in the last couple of months with the downturn in the economy and the poor market at the Fall/Winter sales. Sign of the times, the farms have to adjust for the falling prices.
