November 26th -CT- 4th Race - No. 3 (Dabbaas)
Horse was purchased for 500k (by Include)
Last race was AOC75n1x at AQU (12/15/07) 4th by 6

Making his 10th start
Running tonight for 15kn2l.

Are you kidding me?

What does Shadwell need with 15K? Have they no shame? Obviously, there is a huge "hole" in this horse. Why run it?

Thoughts?

Obviously a major problem as they aren't even giving him a try at a respectable level before dropping. You would think an operation the size of Shadwell would have established avenues to move on their horses that don't make it.

It will be interesting to see if he turns out to be a good claim. I would be afraid of him first for the obvious reasons and secondly, you can be sure that Pino, or any other Shadwell trainer, is not going to want to look bad to them by having a horse move up after he looses it.

They must be feeling the effects of the lower gas prices!!!

the reason why they have to run them at the lower prices is because no one else wants to. mike pino trains horse in that area and will ship any horse to any venue that fits his horses conditions.

today the purses are worth more than the horses that run in the races.
happy thanksgiving

If you were rich, would you just drop $15,000 on the street, saying "I don't need this 15k, so meh."?

It's all about the money. If the horse isn't producing and isn't worth anything as a stallion, off he goes for whatever they can get.

He was claimed, so it looks like mission accomplished.

I hope the guy claimed this horse has a lot of charcoal and a huge bar-b-que pit because they are about to eat this horse.

I think the point being made by the original post was not 'would you bend over to pick up $15000 if you dropped it" even if you were rich, but, if you were rich enough to have the luxury of placing a horse like this in a good home(i.e. different job) as opposed to grabbing the money and having the horse end up on the bottom at CT and/or eventually breaking down, wouldn't you do it?

I would.

They didn't get rich by passing low-level ethical tests.
