There are specific reasons associated with this particular group of angles experiment, but I always look for secondary reasons to make sure it isn't as crazy as I might look on the surface.

This one was taking blinkers off (I love that angle) and coming off a layoff and switching barns. Lots of reason to suspect we could see a very different horse. A recent drop into statebred maiden claimers (about as soft as you can get) was helpful as well.

The trainer doesn't have all that special numbers, but his one area of success has been off layoff, with recent barn additions and sprinting on dirt. Toss in that blinkers off factor and as soft a spot as the horse had ever seen, plus the offer of a huge reward for the risk and why not give it a whirl.

Nice picking Valupix. I had the 4 chalk going into that final pk4 leg and still felt pretty insecure about my chances. I saw the angles you described for the winner before the race but just couldn't pull the chain. As has been said, when none of the horses can run to par, its anything. Bris par for that race is 74 and the best recent fig was a 67 by the favorite. Well done. You've been hitting some nice ones very quietly.

Nice pick in race 9 at Aqueduct..I didn't play at all today and just went over all the maiden sprint races. That 11's sire is Good and Tough..the only top sprint sire in race. And like you said...Blinkers on, trainer change. Also she has ran her best races off layoffs except for the race in the mud. I'm not sure I would of pulled the trigger but I'm glad someone on this board did..
