You should check with Hannity...he must have searched high & low to find an opposing viewpoint from someone as wimpy as Colmes, so he's got his work cut out to find another.

it will take a bigger change than that to get me to watch Fox again.
while they're making changes, they might as well chuck Hannity as well.
Sean is boring, just regurgitates the same tired arguments over and over.

they need to liven it up a bit.

If you want to get those ratings up, what better co-host could there be than Crystal Gunns?
She has just lost the cafeteria gig and would definitely be up for this.
Gunns and Hannity: The newest ratings behemoth.

Colmes is a set up PUSSY !

Now Franken (if he loses OR wins) would be a REAL , fair & balanced alternative.

OR one of us... ;)

Now Franken (if he loses OR wins) would be a REAL , fair & balanced alternative. How were Franken's ratings while he was on Air America? I haven't followed his career. Did he do any media after Air America, is he still on Air America, is Air America even still around?

Or did Franken go straight from failed Air America to his senate run?

I think an intellectual equal to Colmes is appropriate. Is Soupy Sales still among the living?

I take that back; insulting Soupy was uncalled for.

I was serious with Juan Williams. He'd have to better than Colmes. I'm sure the liberals would find a reason to hate him too though.

Uhhh, hate him- absolutely not. But, he would only be considered a "Liberal" among the neo-cons here or on the Unfair & Off balance network. The problem is that many here think that a "liberal" represents a Left wing point of view. This is, of course, usually not the case. Americans don't have any familiarity with various ideological viewpoints domestically. They couldn't tell the difference between a social democrat and a democratic socialist. Williams isn't either of those; nor is he, of course, further down the spectrum towards socialists.

Besides, the point of these shows is entertainment... clearly to get 2 raving lunatics screaming at each other. Williams wouldn't.

Yeah, they would because one in a while he actually makes some sense. And good sense and liberalism are like oil and water.

I think to most Canadians Colmes is a right wing nut :D

I actually enjoy reading Colmes from time to time. I hate to admit I look at his blog.

http://www.alan.com/

How people call him a non liberal (like we see so often in the left wing blogosphere) with his blog title "Liberaland" is beyond me, but to each their own.

Colmes does a pretty good radio show. Most of the time it is very interesting and he is practical on most subjects.........but alas........he is wrong most of the time too......

Hey Burls.....your tightie whities are way too tightie!

PA, Frankenstein left his show to go to the race. Actually, he was not that bad, other than he surrounded himself with liberal idiots and was way too influences by them. He actually made some sense from time to time, when not bowing to peer pressure ( a real good trait for a possible Senator, huh?"

To his credit, he did have an annual entertainment trip to to The Middle East for our troops, a long trip, not an in and out one, on the ground, sometimes in hairy areas. For that , he gets my respect as a person and a pass on some other stuff. I think his place, though, is on the radio....he could, if he tried, bring some honest debate to the table, not the usual Airhead America drivel, like the drunken slut and Knucklehead Ed.

Seriously;

Colmes was the Washington Generals and Hannity was set up as the Globetrotters. For no other reason was he picked for the show / other then he bares an incredible resemblance to Ichabod Crane. Sean is no fool; he would never pick someone who would challenge his positions in any tangible way imo.

Great analogy Dan :D .
Hannity's on the radio too and has every media right-wing imbecile call in to back him up...my wife  shares these views and puts him on when we're in the car which leads to arguments such that whoever's driving ulimately slams on the brakes and orders the other party out of the car so they can walk the rest of the way home :( .

I wish I could take credit for it Odds; but I heard it on TV from someone. I can’t for the life of me say who it was however. It certainly did fit that show imo.

Sidebar; Stand up move by Tom crediting Al Franken with his work entertaining the troops.

Even someone as whacky as Cher deserves credit for the spotlight she shined on the sub-standard quality of our soldier’s helmets. (Her own cash as well)

Speaking of which; just another plea as was mentioned in several other threads. If any family of someone deployed is within your reach at Thanksgiving please lend a hand in any way possible. If we think our plates our full with economic conditions etc…multiply that by 100 and where not yet in their shoes / or boots as it where.

Pardon the commercial, but many people on this board have the means and do help so many; including the man running it.

Very apt analogy, Dan ! And glad that some of the conservative principals here see eye to eye on Franken.

I was across the river last night at Seneca Niagara Casino and saw Colmes kissing Matalin's ass and vice versa as his prelude to shuffling out the door.

What a lickshpittle ! Reminds me of Smithers on the Simpson's. Looks like a creepy Mr. Rogers ! No wonder Hannity was happy to have him around as a Tomato Can for several years.

Okay ... perhaps, I was a little overenthusiastic on the Gunns idea here. But I still maintain that, from a ratings perspective, Gunns is a good candidate for the new co-host.

In any case, Al Franken will hardly be available to co-host with Hannity since he will just be settling into his newly-elected Senate position. :jump:
