I got this from a bud this morning. Assuming it is true the numbers are amazing.

Personally I am very much in favor of school prayer and the word God being accepted as a way of life in this country. This is how I was raised along with everyone I know in my age group here in Westchester/Bronx.

I suppose the 14% blame God for the lack of love in their lives , and/or whatever else ails them ... sad .

There is no blaming or thanking god for what happens on this earth. It is a function of both need and ego to dream up such folklore. We are in control of our own destiny within the limits of lifespan.Beyond that is anybody's guess. There are no rebates on an afterlife that might not exist:lol:

I daresay I would kill to keep In God We Trust printed on our money, I believe it is that vital to our national interests. Ditto for the Pledge, I would never have our nation plunged back into the incredibly dark days of 1776-1954 when we did not have a proper pledge.

They don't talk about this in schools, but back then all the kids thought we were a Satanic Country. How would they possibly have known different? It is amazing our country made it through from foundation to 1950 without it! God's own grace I guess. That extra set of footsteps always there beside us. Thank You God.

I mean you can just see it's impact in the people. The older generations, the ones in the pre-God-pledge days, they were, let's be frank, terrible. Just compare them to all the generations that have grown up since the 60's...and you can see all the benefits of it. Aside from anything else, this should be all the evidence anyone would need to get really really upset about this!

What some people don't seem to get, and it is really beyond me, is that if we didn't print it on the money, and if we didn't say it in the pledge...how would anyone know that we love God? They wouldn't you fools! God would be shuffled back into the shadows, just like he was for the first couple hundred years of our country.

We cannot let that happen again!

Everytime you recite the pledge know that these are words written by a true blue socialist. Also a Baptist minister, who neglected to include under God. So it was recited until 1954. Somehow we survived the depression and WWII anyway.

It is quite obvious, that there are some here who are atheists and/or who believe that we humans have evolved from slime.......So, with all due respect, and nothing personal at all, but greater and more scholarly men than you, have tried in vain to deny the existence of God or to deny the creation of man by divine intervention....Some of those acutally had labored so hard and so intently that they actually came to know and understand all about that same God that they had tried so hard to debunk, and now are true and "championing believers"... And ,they have learned to love and trust God more now than in their wildest dreams, even before they had started out, and now they are certain the we are not just accidents of nature and that our individual DNA, and our fingerprints speak quite loudly and testify as much.....

Mark Twain once said, "I don't believe in God, but I sure am afraid of him"....

God Bless America, please...

best,
