He would have deserved the Hall without last season with that ridiculous winning percentage, .638 in the end I believe is what I heard, but a 20 win season put the lock on it.

going out after a 20 game season is rare..........

I bet you can count the guys who have done that on one hand

There was actually some talk on various talk radio today that his selection could be a close call. One of the commentators who had a vote said he definitely would not be a 1st ballot selection.His opinion, not mine.

Besides, he left the O's to play for the Yanks; at least he didn't go to the hated Sawx.

I for one am going to miss him greatly. What a way to go out after most had concluded he was washed up...

He'll get in but I don't think he'll be a first ballot HOFer. I'd be shocked if he was. He was very good but not dominant.
