This is going to be interesting. They have named him on 5 mounts - but the license issue will be fun to watch...

Walter should be OK..Nobody in Mass. knows we have a harness track in the state...even the Racing Board

Well, for what it is worth, his attorney did speak to the press regarding his release and license issues.

Story here (http://www.standardbredcanada.ca/news/cases-lawyer-speaks.html)

Is it a violation of his "parole" for excessive whipping of a horse (or person, nah, he would never do that) ?...:jump:

best.

Hey Patrick, did my post confuse you ?,,,,I was just poking some fun, WalterCase is getting out of jail, and by a jury of his peers, he is a convicted criminal...thus the Parole and cutlery talk.....:jump: ...That takes nothing away from his former glory and greatness as a harness driver, but these days I don't give a hoot about him or his drug and anger problems, any longer.....

Besides, this country is much too kind to criminals and the like, for instance take Mike Tyson, a known and convicted "beater and raper" of women....And when he couldn't whoop a man he was paid to whoop, he bit off a piece of his ear.....yet we glorified and rewarded his beahvior for his inhuman acts...

Many Americans, (maybe it is an underdog thing) seem to be enamored by the comebacks of such human beings, not me, I would much more like to give a fresh new face the chance at greatness, and not reward the "thumbnosers of the law" to the tune of millions of dollars when there are so many hard working and law abiding people that could use the praise and the kash instead of the convicted felons......

Less confused now Patrick ?

All this hoopla in many forums a bit premature.

As of yesterday, "Mr. Instance" had not even applied for a Mass., license:

I think a lot of people are curious to see if W.C.jr. has exercised all the demonds in his mind, and can make it all the way back to the great driver he once was.
He did the crime, did his time, he's ask no favors, just ask to make a living at what he does best...Good Luck W.C.jr.

I thought this part of the article on his release was pretty funny.....

Case, a twice-divorced dad of two grown boys, said he’s been sober since his 2004 arrest and is hoping to get back to the winner’s circle as soon as possible

They don't sell hooch in Ohio Prisons........ it makes it pretty easy to stay sober.......... as if you have a choice

19 minutes to post. Mr. Case's horse has 293 out of 301 to win, 816 out of 817 to place and 1002 out of 1054 to show. I think this total is more than Plainridge handles on a race. Is it set up for Mr. Case to win his first race back? Is the horse that good?

won by about 13 lengths

The horse paid $2.20 across the board.

He did a real good job in that second drive with not so good of a trip the entire way, plus the 5 horse breaking and causing confusion going to the half. Its not easy to be away for 5 years and then win your first 2 races back from the far outside post no less.

it was a very good drive. can he win them all today?

Unfortunately no, the 8 hole and a tough 1st over trip wasn't good in the 4th race and in the 5th he got nailed right at the wire.

For those who LOVE to post about the "smart" money after the start, Case went from 1-1 to 1-2 in the 6th, the #1 horse went from 6-5 to 2-1. #1 let Case take the lead, retook and nexer looked back winning at 2-1.

For those who say they NEVER have seen a winner go up in odds, pull up this replay and you can you say you at least saw it once. It happens often, but most never notice the last jumps from 2-1 to 5-2. They DO notice the late click from 5-2 to 2-1 though.

Case was denied membership in USTA according to this ruling. Maybe it means he has no driver's license? Mass. was too quick to allow him to drive? Perhaps Wilderness can shed some light on this.

Trying hard not to pass judgement on WC, but he did try to kill someone, perhaps, he will find his way and go on and lead a useful life......Others have...

The rules for convicted felons are in place and must be respected, by ALL.....He had choices, and was given many chances .....

Guess that he's close to returning to Plainridge again. Just has to clear some issues with NY first with his parole before he can.
