View Full Version : Breeders Cup Committee: Asking Fans for Help

A couple of issues here that are important to HANA members, and all of us really.

First, The BC has asked for fan support on changes and they actually have followed through. A number of bloggers and insider fan groups were asked to attend:

The other issue is that fans are not overly proactive. As Vic Z stated on his blog he wondered aloud how we at HANA could only have 200 or so players (it was 200 or so then, it is more than that now). I replied that I thought it was because that fans in racing expected nothing to change, so that malaise turns up in less of a show of hands.

In this instance we have many passionate about the Breeders Cup, but as Dana said from her fan submission:

We brought print outs (and sent soft copies (http://is.gd/7Mqj)) of the submissions we received from SAFC (http://selfappointedfancommittee.com/). They were very grateful and started to read them immediately. The total amount of submissions? A whopping 27. It’s not that they’re not willing to listen, because they are. But if we’re gonna get a fair shake against their data, we’re gonna have to roar instead of peep. Many thanks to those who did make submissions, rest assured they’re being read and that they want to hear what we have to say.

Next time you catch yourself making an excellent point on a comment thread, blog post or discussion board about the Breeders’ Cup (or anything else racing related for that matter!), please PLEASE consider submitting it to SAFC (http://selfappointedfancommittee.com/). Even if we did all get a chance to take part in their surveys, the questions would still be theirs. You can always tell them what you think with an SAFC submission in your own words.

By all rights HANA should have submitted some likes and dislikes about the BC, so we are not innocent here , but I think that goes to show us something: The business is there to listen, but we have to have people to offer their ideas to places like the Self Appointed Fan Committee.

As well, HANA is not going away either, but if anyone out there wanted to join but has not because "nothing will change so I dont want to waste my time" please reconsider. There are some good things happening out there right now, so please give us a hand and sign up. (http://www.jcapper.com/HANA/SignUp/HANASignUpForm.asp?source=1)

If you have any comments at all on the Breeders Cup and what changes or improvements you think can be made, please click the SAFC link above. It is a chance to be heard, and the Breeders braintrust has asked for your ideas.
