Does anyone know about how much these go for? My artist of choice would be Dynaformer, hell on wheels and my favorite sire.

Unknown horses usually bring starting bid (buy it now) when offered. ($100)

Others can get pretty pricey.

December 13 2007,

A recent Ebay auction brought a record winning bid of $5,200 for an original painting created by the late John Henry. The painting was part of the annual holiday auction held by ReRun, Inc., a Thoroughbred horse adoption program with chapters in New Jersey, New York, and Kentucky.

The auction raises funds for the 501(c)(3) charity, and features colorful, abstract paintings--called "Moneighs"--created by some of racing's greatest champions and stallions. The equine artists use their muzzles, tails, and hooves, covered in nontoxic paint, to create the artwork which is then embossed with the ReRun logo and completed with a brass nameplate.

The highest bid on the Ebay auction previously was $3,200 for a painting done by Smarty Jones, the 2004 KY Derby and Preakness winner.

"I am delighted at the response to the auction", said Mary Simons, who assists the equine artists with their work. "John Henry has done several paintings over the past five years, and he was the most requested artist. His work has helped to raise a lot of money for ReRun. We are grateful for his contribution and he will be sadly missed by everyone." Also, included in the recent auction, were "Moneighs" created by Hall of Fame Champion Cigar, along with two-time Breeder's Cup Classic winner Tiznow. Both of those paintings brought bids over $1,000.

Gary G.... love the photo of Lawyer Ron painting...I'd love to see pics of all the 'artisits' at work...maybe they'll post photos on the reRun web site.

If I could buy one...it'd be an original by Tiznow:)

Thanks for the link.
What outstanding 'artisits' all the horses are... and what prices on their works of art...I'd give a lot if I could afford one...would love one by Tiznow:jump: ...ohwell, maybe eventually they will sell 'prints' of these paintings for much less...which would be a great way for them to get more money to Re Run...for this auction, though...hope all see for high prices!!

As this is a betting kind of crowd, who wants to give some predictions on the final bids for some of these Moneighs this weekend? Remember, there's 5 more days to go. I think it's safe to say AP Indy's will break $1,500 if it's already $600 today.
