I wonder if a study has been done on Morning Line in Grade I Stakes Races and the Classic races - Triple Crown and Breeder Cup Races. I have past performances for Breeder Cup and Trple Crown races back to 1999 via Bris, but the Morning Line was not included in the file prior to that. Trying to find the Morning Line for horses in the classic races prior to that I have found difficult online.
Anybody have a listing of morning lines for horses in at least the Triple Crown races and Breeder Cup races at least as far back as 1990, or know of a website that does? I was amazed at how hard it was for example to do a search and try to find Real Quiet's or Victory Gallop's morning lines in the TC races in 98.
One may pooh pooh the MLine in most races as just the track handicapper hastily throwing something up, but in these feature events logic dictates more time is put into it.
