Wednesday's card starts out slow but we are patient as there are nine races. Until race 4, give yourself some time to handicap Thursday's card. It is not necessary to get involved in every race as there is always one right around the corner.

Big Ups to the staff at the Waterbury, Connecticut OTB. Through the years we have run into many less than friendly and less than helpful window clerks at the track or off-track betting sites. However, the Waterbury OTB always impressed me with their cordiality and treatment of the customers. The manager used to manage the Shoreline Dog Track in Bridgeport. High marks for how he runs his staff here. On to the picks:

RACE 4: A positive rider change always perks our ears. Jose Lezcano is a great rider but we welcome back Edgar Prado to town for the ride on # 4 UNACCOUNTABLE. Chad Brown makes this moves for the graduation day as the colt drops to maiden claimers.

PLAY: Win bet on # 4 at 5/2 and higher.

****

RACE 6: Coupla double digit morning line odds fillies interest in this 2 yo. race. # 7 GOLD FOR THE QUEEN showed great improve on the early speed pars last out at Finger Lakes. Alan Garcia takes the reins for Charlton Baker. # 8 SASSIFICATION goes second time for underrated trainer Michael Jablow. He wins 25% of his second tiem starters.

PLAY: Win bets on # 7 and # 8 at 5/1 and higher.

***

RACE 7: # 4 YES MASTER fits the profile of a horse that can win the 6.5 furlong race from off the pace. Pat Reynolds is 17% successful at first off the claim.

PLAY: Win wager on # 4 at 4/1 and higher.

****

RACE 8: Fairy Garden Stakes race and we are going to go bold. # 6 CAGEY GIRL may wire this crew with the cagey early speed jock Michael Luzzi. # 8 BLUES FOR SALE tries grass for first time but crafty Dick Dutrow has placed this one wisely in a not so tough field.

PLAY: Win bets on # 6 and # 8 at 4/1 higher.

***

RACE 9: # 4 TOUGH BUT FAIR gets second time lasix and we always respect a Scott Schwartz state-bred. # 8 IRISH MAMA has early speed and Tony Dutrow ia A-rate on the preparation and spotting.

PLAY: Win wagers on # 4 and # 8 at 7/2 and higher.
