Does being pushed back 8 years doom any chance she had of being President?

My opinion, she cut a deal when she jumped on the O-Train. Time will tell what the price of her soul was.

I'd bet against her running again. BUT, I would bet that her name will come up on a short list for the big Court.

I would think that is way too low of a profile job for her.

I think she is on the short list for the court. She can impact things for another 20 years sitting on the court until she is 80

I think putting her on the SC might hurt Obama politically with independants and moderates as it would look like just what it is - political pay back. She is woefully unqualified to sit on the Supreme Court. I'm thinking Biden might retire before Obama's time is up.

I'm thinking Biden might retire before Obama's time is up.Biden retires, Hillary becomes VP for 2nd term, then she runs again for the top spot? That could work. But only if Obama is still popular in 4 years.

Why 8? Kennedy didn't let a Democratic incumbent stop him from running against Carter in 1980, or the same on the Republican side with Reagan against Ford in 1976. If Obama is weak enough, the sharks will be circling. (Granted, neither Reagan nor Kennedy got the nomination at those times, but Hillary's PUMA folks might have longer memories and sharper teeth.)

If Obama is that weak, she wouldn't have a chance anyway.

If hillary couldn't beat Obama with her clout then i doubt she will be back unless Obama is in the toilet. Only time will tell.

If I was Obama i would not want her anywhere around me and I would distance myself from her. By leaving her in the senate he can control her better than anywhere else.

I sure as hell would not put her on the SC where I had no control over her until she left or died.

Also, just because someone is on the Supreme Court doesn't mean that they can't resign and get back into politics. Harry Truman's first choice for his running mate in 1948 was Justice William O. Douglas, but he declined the offer. Arthur Goldberg ran for governor of New York a few years after leaving the Court.
