Interesting to read that if you were to buy one gallon of the ink based on what is contained in an inkjet cartridge it would cost you $4,731.00

True but you can buy quality bulk ink online for almost every printer, to be used to refill the cartridges for only cents per refill. I've been using it for years using the same cartridge. You can buy both black and color ink. A pint of black ink lasts me well over a year and I print around 25 pages of full text pages per raceday. A pint of ink costs around $18 or so.

Note, if your printer uses cartridges that have the print head built into the cartridge your cartidges won't last as long as those that don't have a built-in print head.

A lot of places are re-filling cartridges now...Office Max for one.
Last time I tried to refill my own, it lasted me over a year, too - trying to clean it up!

I used to refill my own cartridges..But I've had a laser printer for over 2 years now..Laser is definitely the way to go..I print my pps in draft mode and have adjusted the color balance and image settings also..One black toner cartridge lasts over 6000 sheets..One toner cartridge costs 40 bucks..And thats at the Dell website..I probably can find them cheaper elsewhere..
