McCain has always seem to relish the role of "underdog". Although it is unlikely that he will win ALL 5 states that he needs to have a legitimate chance to win the election (PA<FLA<OH<MO<IND), he is leading in recent polls in Ohio and Florida, and can certainly throw a "scare" into the Obama camp come election day..............Here's hoping so!;)

I'm thinking McCain will draw in a large number of undecided and independents making the election a toss up . Ohio may well be the key , though early results from the eastern time zone including Florida and Pennsylvania may have already dictated a winner .

Of course it will be a landslide. Anyone who voted no is in denial.

[Definitely an electoral college landslide.]

I stood in line for an hour with them yesterday. They walk among us..........

They were registering new voters while they stood in line?

I was a little surprised at that.

Denial has NOTHING to do with this.........Although Obama appears to be leading in some key battle ground states, this election is NOT OVER by any stretch of the imagination and if you think it is, then you're the one in denial... McCain is leading in 2 of the previously mentioned 5 states I noted that he must win to have any chance of winning the election.....but how in the hell does that equate to a landslide??????? I heard this same crap 4 years ago........;)

When people vote, the minute they are in the booth they know exactly how much money they have in each pocket, and how much tax was taken to leave them with less, at that point the election will become very very close and forget about sharing the wealth or spreading it around. And if a certain someone gets beat it will not be because of the color of his skin, but the content of his message. Just spend a week in England to see if they have it better. Be very careful of what you wish.

I'd bet Hcap would give me better than that , at least 9-1 .If I only had a nickel for every time one of you said "a democrat can never win". Or even better. For each anti-Obama looney post by all the reality deniers here on the board.

Hell, just the number of new crazy Obama bashing threads started by Ralph alone would set me up in style.

Let's not forget the Obama/Anti-Christ posts by box and LK. How bout a nickel every time a PA right wing crazy mentioned the word "Messiah"? Man, I be livin' on easy street :jump:

Forget about it, when someone is black, many feel he is not black enough, or when someone is white he is not white enough, or when middle of the road they are not left enough, or right enough. This is a free country where nothing is free, what have you done for me today. Forget about someone doing for you, most understand that there is no change for any segment of a population who does not do it for themselves as it should be, so some feel that is not fair, too bad, watch another 20 years pass by. There is no money to be made in any cure, the proof is a new drug store going up at every corner near you. So you want change, break out the new sheets, I hope you like birdseed.

By all accounts it will be a landslide. The early voting numbers support the landslide scenario. Democrats 53% versus 38% for Republicans.

The polls support the prediction I made a year ago. That there will be no Republican party in ten years.

The presidents race has over shadowed something larger and just as historic.

The Democrats will pick up 30 seats in the House of Representative and 10 seats in the Senate.

Three of those races are contributing to my personal joy.

The Democrat will beat Republican senate leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky. That's remarkable.

Democrat will win Dick Cheney's congressional seat in Wyoming.

Ten term Republican Congressman Christopher Shay's will lose , resulting in Republican extinction in the six New England States. There will be not a single Republican in the House of Representatives from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont or New Hampshire.
I want to thank members of Pace Advantage for making my dreams come true. Special shout outs to JustRalph, Boxcar, Tom...and so many others I could not possibly name. Your efforts have made this all possible.

however, when Obama fails in four years and all hell has cut lose, it will be interesting to see what you say then. He will fail.

Keep in mind, it is also do or die for the democratic party as well. All of their insane ideas will not work. Obama will have to open up. It will be interesting to see what we find.

But on the upside, you will prove republicans correct and we won't have to put up with any flak next election.

Also on the upside the media will have to stay quiet because they will be choking on their words.

I will thank you for that.

Tom and others have voiced the same opinion. I think it's wrong-headed given historical trends. If Obama gets elected, this will be a watershed election for both Democrats and Republicans. The Democrats will be able to play the Republican game of redistricting the states for their voting advantage. They will get a chance to replace 3 Supreme Court justices. The voting demographics will favor Democrats even more in four years, especially with minority voters. Most importantly, Obama will likely catch the economic cycle at just the right time going into the next election cycle. I think he's there for two terms. Conservatives have a right to be worried.

As far as the question of a landslide or not, the polls continue to favor Obama. But it comes down to one state, Pennsylvania, for McCain. If he can somewhat win there, he has a good shot at winning this. McCain has to win the other swing states, but he's is leading two of those currently, and within margin of error in the others. I think he is a longshot here, but he remains competitive. On the House and Senate side, I think this is going to be an absolute bloodbath for the Republicans.

Which is why I have said all along, the Presidential race doesn't matter.

If McCain wins, it just adds a few extra days to every piece of legislation the Dems push threw. An extra vote to overturn a veto......... that's all..........

I think that's why the individual state races are actually so important this year. I'm in Oregon and Senator Gordon Smith is likely to lose to Jeff Merkley. Man, there is no comparsion here in my opinion, relative to character. I disagreed with Smith on a lot of issues, but he's been outstanding for Oregon, and is solid. Merkley is a hack, and will likely to be sweeped in as part of the Obama surge here. That's being played out nationally. Even if McCain wins, he won't be able to do jack without some support in Congress, just isn't going to happen after this election.

HCAP, it is good to be remembered. Thank you.

While you are singing praises of socialism, you do know that no one has made it work. I doubt seriously that there are enough people who want to give up their freedoms to become that way.

On the upside, I know what I will be doing for the next four years. Welcoming liberals back iinto the fold of conservatism.

Final Rove electoral map sees large Obama win over McCain

Well, the final day before the official presidential voting and the final version of Karl Rove's exclusive national electoral map sees a strong victory for Barack Obama, gaining the most electoral votes since Bill Clinton's lopsided win over Bob Dole in 1996.
