In a sample of 11656 favorites, 37% won (kind of high) and returned a dollar loss of 15%.
I was able to isolate 3884 races where the favorite won 26% of the time for a dollar loss of 27%.
So, a dutch bet on all the non-favorites in the 3883 races would return a dollar loss of 14%, compared to a dollar loss of 18% in all the 11656 races.
Therefore, if your handicapping is “good” enough to break even betting non favorites, you would be able to make 4% dutching all (or part of) of the non favorites in the 3884 race sample.
