I guess we found out that he's a front runner of sorts, and a slow one at that. The pace certainly did not warrant his finishing dead last. I did not expect him to win, but I did not expect this performance either. I cannot believe the Japanese sent him over here twice this year if this is the best he has against the big boys.

He would probably do much better on real dirt. Still, he was probably the biggest underlay in the race next to Curlin.

he stopped so quickly and so badly, if i trained him, he'd had a scope down him as soon as he got back to the barn. he's too good a racehorse to stop like that and have nothing be wrong.

i'm guessing either an upper respiratory infection or, with no lasix, he bled.

I haven't examined any charts too closely yet, but just from memory of the past two days, it appeared to me that early speed was a big negative on the pro-ride surface. Not matter how fast or how slow they went early, the early speed had nothing left for the stretch in most of the main track races (sans the Juvenile).

Did you really expect Casino Drive to do anything in this race? I mean the horse had 3 lifetime starts and hes facing some grizzled horses in the Classic. I would of found a softer spot for him and tackle the Clasic next year.

Despite how many people keep saying how different all these surfaces are, they basically all play THE SAME.

his pedigree is superior, he's already proved he has some ability. the trainer and owner are not "ham and eggers" foolishly seeking attention.

whether you feel he was in over his head or not, the way he came to such a pronounced stop, to me, indicates something went amiss. probably something related to his breathing.

most "reasonably" gifted horses (and i feel he is gifted) will "finish" even though beaten. when one stops like he did, going from first to last. plummeting backward thru the field at that point in the race, would lead me toward looking for a problem.

we'll know in a day or two.

You've got me confused... yesterday you said, "Clearly, not only is Proride not close to dirt, it plays more like turf than cushion track does!"

They are both still very similar and nothing like dirt. All dirt tracks aren't identical either.

Seriously, I don't know any place would have both a synthetic and a turf course.

Sire is Mineshaft..Grand sire A.P. Indy.. Broodmare sire Deputy Minister..

Pedigree is a no brainer..Distance and Class is a resounding YES!!!
Add a 3 for 3 record...
123 class rating 2 races back at belmont...
120 late pace figure in last running against a very slow pace.

How can you not run him in the classic. He stopped after not so fast early splits. He ran faster splits at Belmont and had tons left late to draw off. Yes it was against lesser company but it did show tons of ability in only his 2nd start. He just didn't fire today. It happens. Forget about it and move on.

I'd guess something isn't right with it. It dropped off quickly before the stretch and finished a long last.

I don't care if you're a moderator or not. That $hitas$ picture of Ledger is pure extravagance and crap on your part.

You have basically good points, not overwhelming, but wether you are a moderator or not, your opinion doesn't warrant your status....

This is why i believe that horse's need to all run on lasix from day 1. All horses eventually get lasix, why play around? Why should horseplayers have to 'guess' which day Casino Drive is going to bleed and stop? Why should we have to worry about that nonsense. I know, the trainer might say "but he's never shown signs of bleeding". yeah, until he does. Now, whoever bet on casino drive threw their money in the toilet because their trainer made a miscalculation and didnt put his runner on the L.

If you are a trainer and you have a horse that cost MILLIONS and you are under 10-1 in a 5 million dollar race and your horse bleeds because he's not put on lasix, you should be fired on the spot for incompetence.

Me, too!

As for surface, how many dirt horses did well in the BC races? I think this is very telling.

So your saying it was a lack of experience and maturity that made him practically stop and finish dead last. I think not..

What is wrong with it? I thought he was BRILLIANT in the role as The Joker, so I used it as an avatar. Nothing more, nothing less.

Explain to me sensibly what is wrong with it and I'll happily change.

CJ,I guess if a person's dad tells me I'm full of $hit for beating the game(based I'm guessing that he's a personal loser and please don't take that the wrong way),followed by your criticism of my bold letter postings it's just too coincidental to be an accident.Followed then by the fact that it's made known you are a moderator and I'm out of line for saying F-You to somone questioning my entire being.

Values a little out of whack definitely.

But I love this site and the input exchanged.I can hang!!!

And so be it Heath Ledger!!!!!Still not that brilliant worthy!!!!Not for an avatar.

Oh and BTW this is a beatable game.....

With."Real life" on the wire.....:)

Yeah. Dad and son have tag teamed before, and I've argued with them. So what?
I'd do that for my son, my sons would do that for me.
So why go bananas?
Yes. You were out of line and who questioned your entire being?

I don't read all the posts here, even by my Dad, sorry. So, I have no idea what you are talking about.

As for the bold thing, that is considered basic courtesy on the internet. I thought I was nice about it. I have no idea why a few weeks later it is still sticking in your crawl.

As far as us "tag teaming", that simply isn't true on my part. I usually make it a point not to get involved in threads where my father is participating.

Finally, the whole moderator thing is so funny. I rarely look any more. I offered to help because I was in Europe and caught a lot of spam like posts and such when PA wasn't around. I'm not there any more, so he is usually on top of things before I even see them.

First off it wasn't your argument so why are you stepping up and declaring jackshit on the state of being. Not your place...

2nd.Which is it????If anybody cared enough to bitch it was of some importance so don't downplay it like it was the last thing on your mind.If you didn't care ,you wouldn't open your mouth.

Your wife needs to take you out behind the shed and dictate your life to you because you obviously have no genuine opinion....
