Just got back from New Orleans. Stayed downtown near Bourbon Street.

It was only a ten-minute drive across the river (Gretna, LA) to get to a full service off-track betting parlor. The parlor was a Twin Spires off-spring with ties to the Fairgrounds.

Friendly staff and knowledgeable bettors. They talk funny though. The concierge said there were a couple of other parlors across the town.

Highly recommended.

Never been there, but with tracks like Fairgrounds, Delta Downs, and all those great jocks, it sure a very serious racing state.

Regardless how I feel about that yahoo mayor FG (along with Tampa) is my favorite track. It takes some time to understand those state-bred races but there is money to be made for sure. Many of those Cajun jocks can ride with the best and often school the boys from Texas on the grass.
