Yes, the "fair" price for the exacta should have benn at least double that. Obviusly someone had the combination many times. Maybe a $50 exacta instead of a $2, or $5, one. The will pays are posted for everyone to see. Not sure ripoff is an accurate description. If you had it, I can understand your disbelief. I would be upset also.

True the will pays are posted, but they don't mean much unless you catch them mid stretch.

Uh, there was 100K in the exacta pool.....not 10K.

Instead of guessing $50, try $500.

Actually, after the takeout, there was about $81,000 to be returned to the bettors. Don't think someone took the whole pool with one ticket, do you? A $200 exacta would have taken down $21,200, a quarter of the pool, and this too, seems unlikely. Maybe $100 exacta as a nice round number to bet, with the remainder going to the small fry.:)

It used to be mid stretch, now it's until you get paid at the windows.

Just wait until the will pays read "to be announced"

Are you serious?

It came 5-1 over 65-1

Exacta unarguably figures to pay $300 for $1 conservatively.

That would mean $270 on that combo.

Exacta paid $105 for $1.

That means there was $770 on that combo.

$770 minus $270 = $500 extra on number than there should be.

That's the best I can do to explain it to you.

"TBA" already happens at some tracks..it's when the Track announces,
"The Race is official...there will be a slight delay in the posting of prices"
if I have a winner, I know it's gonna be an underlaid payout!

Somebody obviously knew something about #6. The top three betting favorites were each in the same general range with #6, both on top and beneath.

Here are all of the possibles with #6:

ML odds 6-x x-6
1 20 28 2310 2048
2 3 2 235 199
3 10 20 795 1329
4 4 5/2 273 275
5 5 8 974 785
6 20 64
7 10 SCR
8 15 10 1616 1290
9 5 7 733 686
10 15 25 2589 2478
11 8 5 236 211
12 30 26 4064 3488

Notice also how the 6-3 payoff was half of the 3-6. Not oddly, #3 finished third. The trifecta was $5,893.80, about 40% of what I estimate it should have paid. The Superfecta (with #10 at 25-1) was fair: $6,371.44 for a 10 cent bet (a $2 equivalent of $127,428.80).
