Back in July, I paid $4.30/gallon back when oil peaked at $147.......now with oil absolutely crashing down below $70/barrel, I filled up tonight. Still at $3.30/gallon. This is absolute bull$hit; One whole dollar down, and much of that has come within the past 2 weeks. Maybe sub $3/gallon won't be a reality everywhere.

I believe that the Big Boyz are just thowing us a bone while thay are busy looting the Treasury, and gas will stay down til they are finished stealing the rest of the loot.........all part of the great conspiracy to change the government and our way of life.

best.

Only problem is there are areas where gas is hardly down, especially considering the drop in oil prices.

Down to $2.99 across street from me, only $2.84 with Fill Up. Down street, $2.97. Finally got under $3.00 near AP.

A lot of it has to do with location . Even within a local location . For instance I can buy gas @ 2.35 , drive 15 miles south towards Houston and stations are charging 2.50 . A couple of them just a few miles west of me are still 2.70 .
I think much of it stems from greed on the station owners part , and not as much of a problem within the market .

Marshall,

You're not driving far enough south - It's $2.17 here today @ about 40 miles south. :)

I liked watching Cavuto slay O'Reilly on this issue. He is so out to lunch on this. Man, he seems to think if the price of gold goes down $400 an ounce today we are supposed to see jewelry stores drop their prices 50% in a week.
