Don't know official reasons, but 46 had an anger in him that permeated seemingly every off-topic post, and a passion for looking for arguments in the horse-racing topics. I can understand why he doesn't know why he was banned - I was worried about him, seemed destined to spend some vacation time in a rubber room. If he's banned, it really is a blessing for him as the rest of us. Man, I thought if someone gave him an ink-blot test, and showed him a picture of what looks like two female breasts, he'd automatically say "Bush & Chaney...and a long string of other stuff to follow. (Yeah, I changed the wording from Breasts from Boobs.)

There's a reason - while the old crew of lefties made ridiculous claims, at least they had some grounding in facts and could present something resembling an argument. The new crew of lefties to show up here lately are a total bore - they don't grasp or care to grasp basic facts, make random shit up if it suits them, and don't seem to have a clue about much of anything. I'll admit I'm starting to think its over, although I still hold out hope. I just see Obama as totally empty and unqualified, but McCain has run one of the worst campaigns ever. If he loses, he has no one to blame but himself. He cannot articulate why anyone should vote for him. Its pitiful. I don't think people are convinced Obama is the answer, but without McCain telling people why he is, the undecideds will go to Obama. Either way, it won't change my life any, they both suck and neither gives a crap about anything but themselves.

That being said, I seriously doubt JR or Tom will approach your level of crazed opposition should Obama win.

I think Palin has had the same impact as just about every other VP choice - minimal. The only folks who really pay attention to her are the hardcore of both sides, the junkies.

I'm curious to see which polls turn out to be closest this year. Most of them are heavily weighted towards a large turnout of Dems and voting groups that normally stay home. Those polls have Obama up big. But most of the other polls that don't make those assumptions have the race pretty tight.

What really troubles me is the money issue. I think its safe to say that if McCain had turned down public financing while Obama used it, there would be an outcry from the media about McCain Buying the election. They key question should be who is buying Obama?

To be honest, as a business owner I just want the damned thing to be over with. Presidential elections are bad for business.

The only folks who really pay attention to her are the hardcore of both sides, the junkies. If you look at the internals, Palin is now a greater drag on the ticket than the association of McCain with his leader GW Churchill. ( When was the last time bush appeared within 1000 miles of either McCain or Palin? ) Her Favorable/Unfavorable percentages are worse than other VP choices historically. Major turn off.

Since the majority of polls make the same assumptions about turnout, the rcp average is going to tilt far in that direction. Looking at that does nothing to show which method is correct, it only shows which method is used more.

I've already said I don't know which one is right. Ap has it a tie. Are they right? Dunno - certainly looks like an otlier, just like the one with a 14 point Obama lead seems to be.

My best guess right now would have accurate polling somewhere around Obama +5. Because of several factors +5 could basically be a tie.

Here's what I find interesting about the polling. All the polls show Penn to be Obama big time, yet McCain is spending a lot of time and money there. Why? His advisers aren't dumb - they think Penn is in play for some reason, and for some reason more than wishful thinking. With McCain's limited resources, it would be insanity to go so hard after a state they have no shot it, and the polls seem to say McCain has no shot there. But they are going all out. Why? They see something the polling isn't picking up. I find that interesting. When it comes to elections, I'm more interested in the strategy of the campaign than the lackluster candidates.
