Retama Park is going to pick up some of the live days, and although it has also been rumored that Lone Star could get some of the additional live race days, here's a shock considering Lone Star is owned by Magna: they apparently don't want them!;) Look for an announcement soon on how many race dates Retama Park will pick up..............

I don't wish hurricane damage on anybody, but I can't say that I'll miss them, and I wouldn't even if betting was allowed there. Sam Houston was the world capital of past-post betting.

Never liked the place anyway , Lone Star either for that matter . Texas is to horse racing as Florida is to alpine sking .

Many of my spot plays did very well at this track. I will miss their meet, especially their turf racing!

It seems very confusing to me that they can say they need ALL of this time and yet re-open for quarter horses shortly after.

I hope Retama can pick up the dates, Texas racing is very good for your bankroll!

don't misunderstand me. I used to Love Sam Houston racing. Until the casinos opened in LA.

I have attended the races there a couple of times in the last five years. I think the facility was great. The turf course was great. The racing the last few years has been hardly worth looking at, at least for me.

This is why I am surprised they are rebuilding. I guess they are still making enough to keep it going. But I don't see how...............

Like Del Mar, Lone Star, and Arlington Park, Sam Houston can conduct its simulcast in a seperate building during the off-season. Reading between the lines that building didn't suffer the type of damage that the main building suffered.

I haven't bet a dime on Texas racing ever since the horsemen withdrew their permission to send the signals to ADW's, and I won't go out of my way to do so either. I'll start betting them again when they return.

I've never had a problem wagering on any of the Texas tracks online, Brisbet then Betpad. Youbet, on the other hand, wouldn't allow me to wager on Texas tracks as a Texas resident, so I quit "em!

I haven't bet Houston much recently because they fell in love with mid-distance races. A couple of years ago they would have half the card as sprints and the other half longer distances. I prefer 6.5f and under and 1m70 and 1 1/16m (claimers exclusively, no 2 year old races period)

I've made a lot of money at Houston and Lone Star (and EvD, surprisingly ( ?))
