I highly recommend watching the Frontline show "The Choice 2008" if you want to learn the history of McCain and Obama.

There are many in-depth interviews with their advisors and friends and other political observers -- such as Newt Gingrich, Jesse Jackson, etc.
It seemed fair and balanced to me. If you're an undecided voter, it may help you decide. If you've already made up your mind, the show probably won't change it, but it might help you appreciate the other candidate.
