View Full Version : All this silly talk of "dangerous" people at McCain/Palin rallies....

Has anyone considered how easy it would be for a couple of Obama supporters to go to a Palin/McCain rally, spout off this vicious nonsense, video the event, and then submit it to the media?

Nah....nothing like that would never happen....

Yet, in every story I read, this possibility is NEVER considered...it's all pure unadulterated BS, and you're going to vote for it....good luck!

At two separate Palin campaign stops - one this week and one last week - someone shouted out "kill him" as she assailed Obama, while another man at a Palin event in Pennsylvania this week yelled out: "Obama Bin Laden." Those sorts of frightening episodes have prompted some high-profile Republicans to deride their candidate's strategy as divisive and dangerous."Frightening" my ass.

After you mentioned that Washington Post column by Susan Jacoby in the "I'm Tired of the BS Double Standard" thread, I e-mailed her and said that if she really wanted to see unadulterated vitriol and hate speech, she ought to check out the Democratic Underground, starting with the posts that appeared after Tony Snow's death. (I don't imagine it'll be news to her, though. She's probably a charter member of the site.)

Oh Pa, you are such a strategic thinker here.

Maybe you should consider the double switch angle !!!! WOW !!!!!! WOWEE!!!

What a script we have going now.

There are nutjobs, just plain nutjobs and kooks and they show up at rallies on both sides , no big deal.

Nothing the campaigns can really do anything about, but to claim they don't exist and then to go to the tin-foil realm right out of the box.

I really think it may have crossed someones mind before.
You could state it in a news story or on a video but I don't think that is leading you anywhere.
Why not go the next step and say that Mac put them up to it so he could look good in "taking the high road" and denoucing it while at the same time running neg ads and letting Palin and others do the dirty??/

OH MY!!!

That's not a healthy place to be.
Take a break it will all be over or not when you get back.

i am in big trouble with my bet on mccain, but i realise it really makes no difference who gets elected. this country is heading towards socialism no matter who gets elected. bush kind of trainwrecked this country even though the problems started long before he took office. he had choices to make and he took the cowards way out like he has done his whole life.

if pace wants to be proud of that republican, that is his choice. not mine. he is no leader like reagun, kennedy, roosevelt or truman.

he is a literal disgrace to the republican party

Absolutely !

First Tom, now you, are so snake bit by the McCain's elevator in free fall, that you've come up with the old "subversive shills paid off by the other side" chestnut to deflect from the lunatics screaming in public.

- Palin's pictures are on the chop
- All the new voters are rigged
- Obama is a terrorist/subversive/Muslim/not an American/ un-American/etc.

Man oh man... screaming in the night...

Embarassing

Actually, voter fraud is being investigated in 15 states, and Ohio has been order to prove all early voters as legit by Friday. Everyone knows that old trick of sending in plants......you aren't that naive not know that, are you?
Ford and GM used buy new cars from each other and ditch them alongside 75 and 94 in Detorit to lave the impression that new Ford is a piece of crap, broke down along the highway. Obama has ties to an admited terrorist who like Bin Laden, bombed the Pentagon.

Show me where the conspiracies are? Everything was literally ripped right out of the headlines.

I think it more you being in denial that your guy is a rat bastard.

I'm likely older than you, Tom, so I've seen EVERYTHING in politics.

But, if you think all those lunatics/ racists were plants, you're betraying your bias terribly. All you need to do is listen to Rush/ any of the usual neo con talk radio suspects link every thought about Obama to a pejorative slag to see the way a pro attempts to delude.

By now, most of America has joined most of the world in supporting Obama. Only the delusional who see the little red martians everywhere, believe he is some kind of 5th. columnist subversive/ terrorist.

I am off to watch the final debate at a meeting of "Democrats Abroad" downtown. Since, I rarely like attending political events with people who mirror many of my own opinions, I'll report back if they're a bunch of anal stiffs.

Much rather be a minority on boards like this... ;)

I've been watching them since Kennedy Nixon. Every time, the qualtiy goes lower and lower.

BS about Rush, et al.. NO ONE there advocates shooting him, or beheading him, or any of the other crap being shouted out. The left, however, is very quick to dismiss the obvious and well document racist and terroist influence and ties to Obama. Two men have bombed the pentagon, Bin Laden and Obama's friend, financer, mentor, enabler.....you get the picture. the righties turn out in huge numbers to greet Sara, and cheer her on, and share with her thier own struggles with special needs children, while the left just grabs a vacumm cleaners and tears their babies to shreds.
Obama even supports killing babies after the are born. So save your self rightiousness.....the dems are the party of baby killers and terroist enablers and hate mongers. That is why they hate Sara...she exposes them for what they are....

Have you ever considered how easy it would have been for Chicago gangsters to have hidden in the grassy knoll? Or have you ever considered how easy it would have been for explosives to be planted in the WTC's? Or how easy it would have been for Republican operatives (such as Liddy) to set up an accident in Chappaquidick?

You can play this nonsensical game forever.

However, we can't deny that people at Palin's rally were yelling out "Kill Him" when Obama was mentioned.

And we cetainly can't deny this GOP's actions either.

"Top Tampa GOP Figure Circulates Joke About Killing Obama

Al Austin, a longtime, high-level Republican fundraiser from Tampa, today sent to his list of political contacts an e-mail containing a joke that refers to the assassination of Barack Obama.

When asked about the e-mail, Austin said it was a mistake and apologized and that he wouldn’t knowingly have circulated it. He said he planned to send an apology and retraction to the same e-mail list.

The joke concerns a group of schoolchildren discussing the definition of “tragedy” as opposed to “great loss” or “accident.” The punch line comes when one child says that if an airplane carrying Obama and his wife, Michelle, “was struck by a ‘friendly fire’ missile and blown to smithereens,” the event might be a tragedy “because it certainly wouldn’t be a great loss, and it probably wouldn’t be an accident either.”

Austin acknowledged sending the e-mail to his list of political contacts but said he forwarded it without fully reading it and didn’t know what it said. That list included at least two reporters.

According to the forwarding history on the e-mail, it had gone through at least two other individuals before being sent to Austin on Tuesday.

Austin, a prominent real estate developer long known as one of the state’s leading Republican campaign fundraisers, has served in recent years as finance chairman for both the national and state Republican parties.

.................................................. ........................................

This isn't just a voice in a crowd, but one of their top fundraisers in Florida. Pretty damn sick.

Secret Service says "Kill him" allegation unfounded
By Andrew M. Seder aseder@timesleader.com
Staff Writer

SCRANTON – The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.

The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him."

News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.

Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.

“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.

Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”

“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

Hackett said he did not hear the remark.

Slavoski said Singleton was interviewed Wednesday and stood by his story but couldn’t give a description of the man because he didn’t see him he only heard him.

When contacted Wednesday afternoon, Singleton referred questions to Times-Tribune Metro Editor Jeff Sonderman. Sonderman said, “We stand by the story. The facts reported are true and that’s really all there is.”

Mike seriously, lay off the politics far a while ,take a vacation stop watching the political crap on tv.You are losing it man.How exactly am I losing it? Please, do explain in detail.

If I were as into politics as you appear to believe, if I were a hardcore Obama supporter and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get Obama elected (and you would surely agree that there are people like this on both sides), then how in the world could you possibly argue that my scenario is not a likely one.

It's so simple to execute and evidently, very effective.

The guy like me who looked for plausible alternatives to the ever-boring "Republicans are the Devil", or the lap dogs who buy this baloney hook line and sinker whenever and wherever it is reported.

By now, most of America has joined most of the world in supporting Obama. Now this is what I would truly consider frightening speech. You probably could have lifted this line from any number of cult handbooks produced throughout the ages with little or no change to the actual text.

It's sad that you have swallowed what the media has regurgitated for you like a helpless baby bird. Why exactly are you supporting Obama? Is it because of what he says, or what he truly believes, because often times, the two are incompatible.

If the Republicans had put up a candidate like Obama, you would be reading nonstop about his lack of experience, his early drug use, his questionable associations, NON STOP, not just one or two articles here or there.

You would be hearing NON STOP jokes about Obama on Letterman, the Daily Show, the View....Hollywood would be releasing horror movies with community organizers as the central theme....etc. etc.

Good luck with all that. The 2008 election process has completely subverted over 200 years of American tradition and democracy. Maybe that suits you just fine.

But I get it. All you have to do is come back at me with "Take a vacation man, you're losing it" or better yet "You just hate blacks" as if I wouldn't vote for Colin Powell in a heart beat over any white man or woman the Democrats could ever find to put on their ticket.

Remember the "makaka" incident that the libs blew way out of proportion to destroy the career of a decent man by, what else, playing the race card yet again? Tha scumbag was a democrat plant. So forgive when I tell you all you ar full of s***, both on plant and the race cards.....you got the whole deck on that one.

BTW, remember Tom Foley? Seems his dem replacement is an even bigger dirtbag tha Foley was, and probably even broke the law with his threats and firing. Nice.
