What are the counter arguments?

The ad says, the indian casino will pay zero taxes on their "huge" profits. How does anyone know that the casino will make "huge" profits?

They want to put in a casino in Wilmington Oh.

This is the same place that the DHL jobs are leaving. This leaves over 6k out of work. They want to bring in the casino and create a mini vegas. The airport has a ten thousand foot runway if I remember right. That should help it become a gambling spot for those who don't want to go all the way out west

The "against crowd" is backed by the river boats in Indiana......an hour south...........

I am voting for it. Btw, last I heard the polls show it will pass w/56 percent approval

Race tracks are left out............which is why some say it is going to pass

I will be voting for it though...........

I'm voting against it. This paragraph on the ballot smells fishy: "Reduce the tax paid by the casino authorized by this amendment to the lesser of the rate taxed on another casino or 25%, in the event another casino is
permitted in Ohio in the future." If the "another casino" is done Indian-style with no tax....then, no tax.

The Ohio tracks are hanging on by an unraveling thread. A casino in Wilmington would kill Lebanon and Beulah, and probably River. I just can't vote for it, although I certainly have nothing against casinos in general; just this one.

Wasn't Lyle Berman , one time Pro-poker player, behind this Issue 6 in Ohio, man no wonder it got defeated, they need a better front man than him, sorry.

Maybe next time, they can try to do it more fairly, allow it to be open to others, not just be monopolized by one entity, yeah I read up on it, for the week I was stuck in Ohio waiting for my next job to start. Oh yeah and the fine print wasn't so finely hidden either, so next time do it right and it will pass.

Just my thoughts

A huge swing from the poll numbers to the actual results were not surprising at all. Every newspaper in Ohio endorsed the NO Vote on Issue 6. The "No on Issue 6" people flooded the mailboxes of Ohioans for 2 weeks non-stop. In an unofficial estimate, I believe these people outspent Obama in my area to defeat Issue 6. Amazing since people in this area can go to Presque Isle or Mountaineer for slots in 45 to 90 minutes. Detroit or Niagara Falls Casinos are almost as close as this Casino would have been for this areas residents. The Big Money won it for them.
