In case you were wondering about Graded Stakes earnings for this years contenders, well here you go bunky, everything you need to know!

Graded races remaining:

3/22 at TP the GII Spiral/Lane's End whatever stakes $600k
3/29 at Nad al Sheeba GII UAE Derby $2,000,000
4/5 at Haw GII Illinois Derby $500k
4/5 at SA GI Santa Anita Derby $750k
4/12 at Aqu GIII Bayshore $150k
4/12 at Aqu GI Wood Memorial $750k
4/12 at Kee GI Toyota Bluegrass Stks $750k
4/12 at Oak GII Arkansas Derby $500k
4/19 at Kee GII D. Wayne Lukas Lexington Stks [lol] $325k+
4/26 at CD GIII Derby Trial $100k+

While looking over the list, remember many of the high earners will scoop up more cash along the way, leaving the n'er do wells gasping like Sunday Break & Winward Passage last year. Last years cut off mark was around $100k, this year it might be higher.

The Godolphin factor: if they choose to run, their top two finishers in the UAE Derby ($2mm purse) will get a berth. No doubt one will come. So there are only 19 slots open. (obviously their horses need to win, lol)

The Ballydoyle factor: Perhaps they'll send someone, maybe not (please no comments about how you'll never bet Godolphin or Ballydoyle runners because.......blah, blah, blah) I happen to like Tomahawk $120k+, Van Nistlerooy $150k+, and Hold The Tiger $300k+ (the + next to the sums because of foreign earnings) One slot to Ballydoyle and O'Brien if they visit.

Thanks for the info!

Speaking of graded earnings leading into the Derby ....

Remember how so many complained and were bothered by Sunday Break not getting into the Kentucky Derby last year because he was short on earnings following a third in the G1 Wood Memorial?? And what did he do after that?? He won the Peter Pan over Puzzlement, ran a distant third in the Belmont behind upset winner Sarava and runner-up Medaglia d'Oro, then checked in last of 11 in the Dec. 26 Malibu coming off the layoff, and followed with a 10th of 11 in the New Orleans Hcp when returned early this month.
