But these days I only buy Chevron gas. After years of buying Arco (or whatever was the cheapest) a friend of mine told me that you get 10% better gas mileage with Chevron--plus it's better gas.

So, I checed it out for myself and he was right. Arco was the worst gas mileage, then Costco, and then Chevron. Right now Chevron is .10 cents more a gallon than Arco, so it's cost effective to buy the better gas.

Thanks for the tip....only reason I go to costco is that it is usually the cheapest around...plus get 5% cash back. Still might have to check out chevron. rbj

On a 2 week road trip through Arizona & New Mexico did hit a little of Texas. The lowest price so far was 3.17 at a Phillps66 in Albuquerque, NM.

We are now in Sedona, Az.

JackIf you get a chance check out Montezuma's Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montezuma_Castle_National_Monument). I think it's halfway between Flagstaff and Phoenix.

Pretty cool.

We were there in 2006 on our way to the Grand Canyon. That is a nice place to visit. We like seeing places from the past.

Lincoln, NM was a good place to see also. Lots of history there especially the story about the Lincoln County war that Billy the Kid was one of the players.

Rolling Meadows, IL, 1 mile from AP, it was $3.79 across the street from me. Only $3.59 with a car wash. Best price I'd seen in many months - almost made me want to fill the tank for the first time since spring.

Don't mean to burst any bubbles here, but all the gasoline comes from the same areas holding facilities, it is all the same stuff.

Have you ever drove by the area refinery, or bettter known as holding facility, and you will see all type of tanker's getting fuel for Pilot, Flying J, Costco, Sunoco, BP, all of them get it at the same place, seems kinda weird to me.

Just thought everryone knew that, thou some area's do have more than one refinery or holding facility, and they may have different fuels then, but even still, there will be no special tank for just Mobil, or Chevron, only, oh well....
