Pepper's Pride won her 17th straight race today to set a modern North American record (she is also 17-0 lifetime).
Yes, all races were New Mexico Stakes and Allowance races but this is still an impressive achievement.

The longest streak I know of was set by a horse named Camerero? in the 1950's in Puerto Rico. He won 56 in a row! I have no idea what distances he ran, what the tracks were like, etc. All I know is that it seems like he would have had a bad day at some point before he won 56, but he didn't. Unbelievable.

Geeze the feeling you get from his winning 1 race is great...To win 17 in a row is astounding!!!....Hope the trainer doesnt wear a pacemaker!! Congrats to his connections and kudos to the "Big Mare"
