Sad news. He was one of the great ones. I remember well seeing him for the first time in "Cool Hand Luke" with George Kennedy. Still one of my favorite movies and the tag line is one I will trot out on occasion.

The man was a classic. Two nights ago, I watched Slapshot on my big screen. I had never seen it before. Also, recently I watched Empire Falls after reading the book. Hope Clint sticks around for a while.

"What we have here, is a failuretocommunicate (one syllable) ".

One of the all time lines, from one of the all time movies, for definitely an actor for all time !

Great life, great career Luke ! http://www.majorwager.com/forums/images/smilies/beercheers.gif

I remember when they finished filming "Fort Apache the Bronx" Paul Newman and the cast of the movie were having a party at Alex & Henry’s Restaurant & Reception Hall on Courtlandt Ave. in the Bronx. Why do I remember? I got married that day and was having my wedding reception in the reception room next to his. I lost half of my guests to Newman's bigger and better party as he invited any & everybody that passed his hall to join the party.

May he RIP

F.A the B., starring the GREAT Rachel Ticotin, still young, firm, vibrant and presumably horny.

Doesn't appear on the TCM schedule, however, you can purchase a DVD collection here on the TCM site (http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=D69102&shopRef=TCMdb|Title) that contains that movie.

I don't care if it rains or freezes
'Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Through my trials and tribulations
And my travels through the nations
With my plastic Jesus I'll go far

I didn't know this, but some of the scenes for "Slapshot" were filmed here in Rochester at the War Memorial. They going to hang his movie jersey in the hall of fame rafters this weekend.
