Sunday Silence

Classy Gentleman took solid coin after drawing the fence in his debut when breaking awful and being rushed. This is when horses bleed and Lasix added for facile score at five to one when overcoming bad rail after glittering set of morning moves. YG gelding worked sharply last Saturday and is the one to beat..................Messy Marvin got blinkers for his last and had an educational voyage when breaking poorly, hitting the gate, jostled, lingered, lacked room, four wide, steadied, swerved.....a clean trip makes this homer a player....and Marquee Event for DKVH who looks dead red. A series of salty drills gives this half to Ark Derby king Gayego a big chance off the hedge. Three long.

River Cities

"Brownie is the best but never fond of dropping trip and adding poundage especially at even money so will go two deep with exceptional riders. Candy Ball gets Robby and Pleasantly Blessed gets P Val and while both would need their A game, current form says thats possible if not likely.

Super Derby

Tough to single the weasel but he looks best and Churchill works say ready again for athletic gray Florida Bred. KJ a plus after troubled Travers trip behind more than a few that would trample these.

Where have all the highweights gone??????????? Top twelve all pass!! Nice job Doug. Going three deep. Ernesto has been right there all five, five year old tries and had little chance behind "Brownie in last who incidentally was pegged at 119 here. (Interesting argument for trainers or cappers on which race to choose). Royal Academy homer moves up in class but figures to run well. Steve's Double has been just that for Ronny to keep sound but his best puts him in the mix and Knockout Artist who sees no Hyperbaric here but is a former claimer and has not won since last July.

Played 1,5,6 / 8,10 / 3 / 1,6,7 Good cappin. BBB

Hey, I was there yesterday and I'll redboard my ticket, too.

2,5 // 6 // 2,4,6 // 1,6,7

Factoid... Tortuga Flats has now all-time win leader for LaD turf races according to today's Shreveport Times report.

Consolation prize: I had 2,5 $1 Quinella that paid $98.90.

Had been on a bit of a roll with two pick four hits in a row and three of our last four, yet played this sequence on a hook and a prayer only after chain saw malfunction. Three two turn heats on the tricky Stall course always challenging especially off the hedge and day featured some very shrewd "jockeyship" highlighting the Bossier City tracks' marquee day .

Sunday Silence

Went three long with Classy Gentleman our top pick and that one looked long gone at the pole at a fat nine to one but here comes the Stonerside (for now) homer who runs by us returning some $41 under stable jock Tony Mc. Our choice figured a perfect trip behind the cheap Saratoge speed and may have been too close to the torrid fractions. Did not mind that the winner started for a tag at all given prior vet scratch , but being 35-1 in a soft seven horse field in his last did not inspire confidence and trip back to Retama indicated the decision to run was a last minute deal. Thorograph best bet to boot!! No matter.. we were not really solid thereafter.

River Cities

Tortuga Flats runs a new top with a splendid ride by Kirk (who has a positve ROI on the lawn) and returns $17. Wild Zone mare is certainly a win machine and notched her tenth score in only thirteen turf tries. This race really underscores the issue of weight, a subject many cappers ignore. Brownie Points was bet down to eighty cents on the dollar and really was up against it given the grain of the race.

Super Derby

Competing in his fifth derby My Pal Charlie exploded late anf returned $15 as the third choice. Hats off to "chopper" who got this one to settle (a bit) as this colt is a rough ride by any measure. A trio of Kentucky riders could not get this one to relax in ten tries and Stall put chopper up who rode this ones full brother. Our single Macho Again ran OK to garner the place while never a threat to the winner.

UnB 'Cap

Another terrific ride by Robby (a trio of stakes wins on the day) on Steve's Double ($6.40). Preston gelding sat as chilly as possible dropping precious position behind very soft splits before sub :22 last quarter to get the money.
A tough sequence to bag with a pair of former maiden claimers winning stakes although the inside is always good here and 2,1,2,1 combo returns over twelve large for a deuce. Stonerside, horse for course, B Wayne and Oxbow players were well compensated indeed! BBB
